The glass vial with spray pump is a ready-to-fill container for facial and hair mists, tonics, refreshing sprays and eau de parfum in travel size. It consists of a brown glass bottle with a nominal volume of 30 ml and a black-gold glossy spray pump with a smoke-coloured cap. The pump disperses the liquid into a fine mist with a small dose per press, so the contents are applied evenly and economically. The bottle is narrow and compact, fitting comfortably into a handbag or cosmetics pouch.

What the set is suitable for

The pump works reliably with thin, aqueous or alcohol-based liquids. Suitable applications include facial mists and tonics, hydrolats, low-viscosity hair sprays, setting sprays for make-up, fabric refreshers in small quantities, and eau de parfum or cologne. It also serves well as sample packaging when you want to let customers or friends try a new fragrance without a full-size bottle.

Thick serums, oils and emulsions are not suitable for a mechanical spray pump. For oil-based formulations, it is better to choose the same bottle with a dropper or lotion pump.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the quantity for which the bottle is designed under normal filling conditions. Total brim-full volume is the physical capacity up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference between them provides headspace for the pump: once screwed on, the dip tube and lower part of the pump take up some space, and the liquid needs room to expand with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Filling right up to the neck will cause the liquid to overflow onto the thread when the pump is fitted.

What to know when filling and using

• Preparation before first fill – we recommend rinsing the bottle with warm water, sanitising it with alcohol (IPA or ethanol) and leaving it to dry completely upside down. For the pump, a rinse with clean water or alcohol and a few dry presses to expel the liquid is sufficient.
• Dip tube – the dip tube of the pump may be longer than the short bottle requires. If it bends or lifts the pump after fitting, trim it with a sharp knife or scissors using a diagonal cut so that it just reaches the bottom. The angled tip will not suction against the glass and will draw out the last drops.
• Alcohol and essential oils – glass is resistant to both alcohol and essential oils. The plastic parts of the pump are made of polypropylene, which tolerates common alcohol-based compositions. With a high proportion of undiluted essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking the pump's seal and function with a small amount after several weeks.
• Apply the label to dry, degreased glass.
• Recycling – dispose of the glass bottle in the glass bin. The pump combines plastic and metal, so separate it from the bottle before disposal and follow local recycling rules.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The glass bottle alone carries a certificate for direct food contact. The pump does not, and therefore the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics, not for food use.
