Product description
A glass vial with a black-and-gold sprayer is a ready-to-use set for fine misting of thin liquids: facial waters, tonics, hydrolats, body and hair sprays, or room fragrances. Glass is inert to common cosmetic contents, does not absorb odours, and does not transmit them. It is therefore also suitable for perfumed and alcohol-based blends, where plastic may not be the best choice.
The bottle and sprayer share the same neck type, so the set does not need to be assembled from two separate items. The smoke-coloured cap protects the pump head from accidental actuation and dust.
Intended uses
The nominal volume of 100 ml is a standard size for daily-use products dispensed in small amounts. The sprayer produces a fine mist and applies the content evenly over a larger area.
- Facial waters, tonics and hydrolats – a fine mist applied directly to the skin without a cotton pad.
- Body and hair sprays – water- or alcohol-based blends such as body mists, detangling sprays, or hair refreshers.
- Room fragrances and fabric sprays – alcohol- and water-based blends with a fragrance component, where glass does not absorb the scent even after prolonged use.
- Perfumed products and gift packaging – the glossy black-and-gold finish with a smoke-coloured cap suits products where appearance matters.
The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. Only the glass bottle alone holds a food-contact certificate; the set as a whole is therefore intended for cosmetic use only.
How the sprayer doses
A single press delivers approximately 0.14 ml of liquid, so about seven presses are needed per 1 ml. The small dose allows the product to be applied gradually and economically. For products with a recommended use amount, dosage can also be expressed in number of presses.
The sprayer is designed for thin liquids with a viscosity close to water, i.e. aqueous and alcohol-based solutions. Oil, gel, or a thicker emulsion will not disperse into a mist — it will come out in a stream or large drops, and the pump will be harder to press. On first use, press the head several times without liquid until it is drawn up through the dip tube.
Undissolved particles can clog the nozzle. These include plant fragments, glitter, clays, and poorly dissolved essential oils. The blend should be clear or filtered before filling, with fragrance components fully dissolved.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for under normal filling. The total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck and is slightly larger — the exact value is listed in the specifications. The difference serves as a buffer: the sprayer body with dip tube takes up some space, and the liquid expands with temperature changes, especially alcohol-based blends. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.
Good to know
- Preparation before first filling – wash and rinse the bottle. Then disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Do not boil the sprayer. Spraying it through with alcohol and letting it drip dry is sufficient.
- Glass and temperature – glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes. Do not fill a cold bottle with hot content; allow the blend to cool first.
- Plastic parts and concentrated fragrance components – the sprayer is made of polypropylene and aluminium. For blends with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking in advance that the mechanism retains its function.
- Labelling – the cylindrical bottle body has a flat surface suitable for a self-adhesive label. Dimensions needed for label design are listed in the specifications.
- Recycling – the bottle goes into sorted glass waste. The sprayer is made of multiple materials and should be sorted separately.
Other closures with the same neck type can also be fitted to the bottle — for example, when changing a formulation to a thicker consistency. The neck type is listed in the specifications; closures and other ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range. For custom combinations, we recommend verifying the seal, dosage, and packaging behaviour with the specific formulation.
