Amber Glass Bottle, Gold Black Spray, Smoky Overcap, 50 ml

This is a ready-made set for tonics, hydrolats, and perfume or hair mists: a brown glass vial with a nominal volume of 50 ml and a plastic sprayer in a glossy black-gold finish with a smoke-tinted cap. Brown glass reduces light transmission, protecting contents that are sensitive to light and oxidation. The sprayer disperses liquid into a fine mist and dispenses it in small amounts without hand contact with the contents. The set is designed for cosmetics, meaning thin aqueous or alcoholic preparations applied by spraying.

The dark glossy sprayer and smoke-tinted cap look cohesive on the counter and in the bathroom alongside the brown glass. The set is therefore often chosen for small production runs of perfume waters, gift packaging, or test samples.

What the set offers

• Light protection – brown glass filters out a portion of ultraviolet radiation, slowing the degradation of essential oils, perfume compositions, extracts, and certain active substances in aqueous solutions.
• Glass with no interaction with contents – does not react with alcohol, essential oils, or the acidic environment of tonics. The contents do not absorb any odour or components from the material.
• Fine mist – the sprayer disperses a thin liquid into fine droplets that spread evenly over skin or hair. The contents are used slowly and economically.
• Hygienic dispensing – the contents do not come into contact with fingers and are exposed to air less than in an open bottle. This reduces the risk of contamination and preserves the preservative system.
• Smoke-tinted cap – the transparent dark cap protects the nozzle from dust and accidental pressing in a bag or on a shelf.

Use in practice

The set is suitable for leave-on preparations with low viscosity: facial and body tonics, hydrolats and floral waters, perfume waters and hair fragrances, alcoholic hand refreshers, setting mists, and solutions with water-soluble active substances (e.g. hyaluronic acid at low concentration, panthenol, allantoin). The sprayer tube reaches to the bottom of the vial, so nearly all of the contents can be used up. Trim it to length if needed.

The spray mechanism works reliably only with thin liquids. Oils, thick serums, emulsions, or gels either will not pass through the nozzle or come out as a stream rather than a mist, causing the mechanism to clog. For such preparations, a vial with a dropper or pump is a better choice.

The sprayer with plastic parts tolerates ethanol at concentrations typical of perfumery and disinfecting preparations. However, when a high proportion of essential oils or other solvents is present, it is advisable to check the behaviour of the seals and tube with the specific formulation.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the quantity the vial is designed for at normal filling, and this is the figure used to label the product. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity of the glass up to the neck and is always slightly larger. The difference between them provides clearance for the tube and the body of the sprayer, which are submerged in the contents after screwing on, and for the expansion of the liquid with changes in temperature. The vial should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Otherwise the contents will overflow through the neck when the sprayer is attached.

Good to know

Preparation before first use. Wash the vial with warm water and an unscented washing-up liquid, rinse thoroughly, and disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. Then leave it to dry completely with the neck facing down. Do not disassemble the sprayer — rinsing it with clean alcohol and spraying through it empty is sufficient. Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes: do not fill a hot vial with cold contents, or vice versa.

Reuse. Glass can be reused any number of times as long as the neck is not damaged. Always flush the sprayer with alcohol when changing the contents. Residues of the previous product, especially dried perfume compositions, alter the scent of the new fill and clog the nozzle.

Seal integrity when carrying. The sprayer is designed for upright use, not for transport upside down in a bag. Before travelling, test the packaging with the actual fill and always fit the cap — it protects the nozzle from accidental pressing.

Contact with cosmetics and food. The set as a whole is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity is included with the product. Only the glass vial individually holds a certificate for direct food contact. The set with the sprayer is intended for cosmetics and we do not recommend it for food use.

Dispose of the empty vial in glass recycling. The sprayer is a combination of plastic and aluminium and belongs in plastic waste according to local sorting rules.
