Product description

The white plastic 10 ml pharmaceutical bottle with a black and gold fine mist sprayer and a smoky overcap is a small pack for liquid cosmetic products applied as a fine spray. It is suitable for perfume samples, travel-size eau de toilette, face and hair mists, toners and refreshing hand sprays. The sprayer has the same neck finish as the bottle, so the set can be filled and used straight away. The white colour of the bottle hides the contents and limits the amount of light that gets in, which is useful for fragrances and water-based blends that change colour or character in light.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

What it is suitable for

  • Fragrance samples and testers – the 10 ml volume matches a typical sample of perfume or eau de toilette that a customer tries before buying a larger size.
  • Travel size – the lightweight plastic bottle fits into a handbag or hand luggage.
  • Mists and toners – water-based and alcohol-water preparations with low viscosity pass through the nozzle evenly and are dispensed without spilling.
  • Gift and display packaging – the glossy black and gold closure with a smoky overcap looks like a finished retail pack without any further modification.

How the set works

The sprayer draws the contents up through a dip tube from the bottom of the bottle, and one press releases approximately 0.14 ml of liquid. With such a small volume, this is an advantage. The dose is small and repeatable, a sample lasts for several uses and application is easy to control. The smoky overcap protects the nozzle from clogging and from accidental pressing in a bag.

When the sprayer is first fitted, the dip tube fills only after several presses. This “priming” is normal with every new sprayer and does not mean a defect.

The bottle is filled up to the nominal volume of 10 ml, not to the brim. The nominal volume is the volume the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The total volume up to the neck is larger, and the difference is a reserve for the sprayer’s dip tube and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. If you fill the bottle completely, the contents will overflow when you screw on the closure.

Good to know

Consistency of the contents. The sprayer is designed for liquids similar to water or alcohol. Oils, serums with a higher gel content and thick emulsions will not spray properly through the nozzle. The mechanism clogs or produces drops instead of a mist. For such preparations, choose a bottle with a dropper or a pump.

Material and contents. The bottle is made of PET, and the closure combines PP and aluminium. For perfume concentrates, undiluted essential oils and preparations containing solvents, we recommend checking beforehand that the contents do not change the appearance, scent or tightness of the packaging after several weeks. Water-based toners, hydrolates and alcohol-water fragrances are commonly combined with this type of plastic.

Preparation before first filling. The packaging is supplied non-sterile. Before filling, we recommend rinsing the bottle, disinfecting it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and letting it dry completely. It is enough to spray pure alcohol through the sprayer and let it dry; do not pull out the dip tube.

Reuse. The bottle can be washed and refilled. Flush the sprayer by pressing it several times with clean water or alcohol. If the dose has become smaller or the nozzle splutters, the mechanism is clogged and it is better to replace it.

Recycling. The sprayer contains aluminium, so before disposal unscrew it from the bottle and discard it separately from the PET bottle.

You will find closures with the same neck finish and other ready-made bottle + closure combinations in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness, dispensing and behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.

Do not use the set for food or drinks. Only the bottle on its own has a certificate for direct contact with food; the sprayer does not. The assembly as a whole is therefore intended exclusively for cosmetics.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 10 ml plastic pharmaceutical bottle with a sprayer suitable for perfume samples?
Yes, the set is commonly used for samples of perfumes and eaux de toilette. Alcohol-water fragrances have low viscosity and the nozzle turns them into a fine mist. The small dose per press lets you try a fragrance without waste. For concentrated fragrance oil or a blend with a high proportion of essential oils, we recommend first checking that the contents do not affect the plastic or the tightness of the packaging.
Does the white 10 ml plastic pharmaceutical bottle protect the contents from light?
The white bottle hides the contents and limits the amount of light that gets in, unlike clear packaging. This helps fragrances and water-based toners that change colour in light to keep their appearance for longer. However, white plastic is not a complete barrier, so do not leave a filled bottle in direct sunlight for long periods.
Can the 10 ml plastic pharmaceutical bottle with a sprayer be used for oil or serum?
No, the sprayer is designed for thin liquids similar to water or alcohol. Oils and thick serums will not spray through the nozzle; the mechanism clogs and produces drops instead of a mist. For oil-based products, a bottle with a dropper or a pump, which dispenses without spraying, is more suitable.
How full should you fill the 10 ml plastic pharmaceutical bottle with a sprayer?
The bottle is filled up to the nominal volume of 10 ml. The physical volume up to the neck is somewhat larger, but this reserve is taken up by the sprayer’s dip tube and by the space for the contents to expand when the temperature changes. If you fill it to the brim, the contents will overflow when you screw on the closure and the dip tube may not prime correctly.
Is the 10 ml plastic pharmaceutical bottle with a sprayer suitable for food or drinks?
No, the set as a whole is not approved for contact with food. Only the white bottle on its own has a certificate for direct contact with food; the sprayer has no such assessment. The assembly is therefore declared exclusively for cosmetic products such as fragrances, mists and toners.
How do you clean a plastic pharmaceutical bottle with a sprayer before refilling it?
Wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Flush the sprayer by pressing it several times with clean water or alcohol to remove residues of the previous contents from the dip tube and nozzle. If the nozzle splutters or dispenses weakly after cleaning, we recommend replacing the mechanism with a new one.
