Product description
A glass bottle with spray pump in a 50 ml volume is a complete set designed for liquid cosmetic preparations applied by spraying – facial mists, tonics, hydrolats, perfume and toilet waters, or light hair sprays. The bottle is made of translucent milk glass, which partially conceals the contents and diffuses light, while still allowing the fill level to be monitored. The spray pump in a black-and-gold gloss finish with a smoke cover gives the set the appearance used for perfumes and facial mists, and thanks to its plastic components it is lightweight. The set is supplied as a bottle and spray pump with the same neck type, so it only needs to be filled and screwed on.
Key benefits
- Milk glass – the semi-translucent surface diffuses light and softens the appearance of the contents; suitable for preparations where you want to maintain a clean, discreet look without fully clear glass.
- Glass as a material – it is chemically stable, does not react with the contents, and does not allow fragrances or alcohol to permeate, making it suitable for alcohol-based and fragranced preparations.
- Fine misting – the spray pump disperses the liquid into a fine mist, enabling even application of a small amount to skin, hair, or fabric.
- Smoke cover – the transparent dark cover protects the nozzle from accidental pressing in a bag while not concealing the spray pump design.
- 50 ml volume – a size suitable for travel, handbags, and as a full size for tonics and mists that are consumed more quickly.
What the set is suitable for
The spray pump works reliably with low-viscosity liquids. Among cosmetic preparations, these are primarily water-based facial mists and tonics, hydrolats, perfume and toilet waters with an alcohol base, light hair sprays, and refreshing body sprays.
For thick or oily preparations, the set is not suitable. The spray pump cannot atomise pure oils and oil serums into a mist – they are expelled in a stream and the nozzle may become blocked over time. Preparations with undissolved particles (scrubs, suspensions, glitter mists) are equally unsuitable as they would block the nozzle. With milk-type emulsions it is advisable to test the behaviour in the specific formulation – thin emulsions may work, thicker ones may not.
The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity is available at the product page. This set is not intended for contact with food.
Filling and volume
With packaging we distinguish between two volumes. Nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is designed under normal filling conditions. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference between them provides a reserve for the submerged dip tube of the spray pump and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim – otherwise the contents will overflow through the neck after screwing on the spray pump.
The spray pump dip tube is supplied with a length allowance. Before screwing on for the first time, hold it against the bottle and if it extends beyond the bottom, trim it with an angled cut so that the end just touches the bottom. The tube will then not bend, will draw the contents right to the end, and the spray pump will dispense evenly.
Good to know
- Preparation before first filling – we recommend washing the bottle, rinsing it, disinfecting it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing it to dry completely. The spray pump can be flushed with clean water or alcohol and sprayed empty a few times.
- Repeated use – the glass bottle can be reused after thorough cleaning. With the spray pump, when changing the contents – especially after fragranced and coloured preparations – it is worth considering replacement so that fragrances and residues are not transferred to a new preparation.
- Glass and temperature – do not fill the bottle with hot contents and do not expose it to sudden temperature changes. Allow the preparation to cool to room temperature before filling.
- Essential oils and perfume compositions – glass is resistant to them. The plastic components of the spray pump come into contact with the contents through the dip tube and valve, so at high concentrations of essential oils or compositions we recommend verifying the spray pump's behaviour before filling a larger batch.
- Labelling – the milk glass surface is smooth and labels adhere well to it.
- Closures and combinations – closures with the same neck type as specified in the product parameters, and further ready-made combinations, can be found in the Handymade range. For a custom combination we recommend verifying the seal and dispensing performance with the specific formulation.
- Recycling – the glass bottle belongs in glass recycling; the spray pump is separated before disposal and sorted individually.
The smoke cover does not serve as a leak-proof closure. When transporting the filled set, keep the bottle upright and verify that the spray pump is tightened securely. Water-based and alcohol-based preparations may seep through the nozzle after prolonged lying on their side.
