Amber Plastic Bottle, Gold Black Spray, Smoky Overcap, 30 ml

This plastic medicine bottle with fine mist sprayer is a ready-made set for 30 ml of liquid cosmetics applied by spraying. The amber PET body reduces light transmission, so it suits toners with plant extracts or hydrosols, which age faster in light. The fine mist sprayer in a glossy black and gold finish has a smoky overcap that protects the nozzle from dust and accidental pressing in a handbag or travel pouch. The set as a whole is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics.

What the set is suitable for

The small volume and the sprayer determine the use: thin, watery or alcohol-based contents that are meant to be dispersed onto skin or hair as a fine mist.

• Facial toners and hydrosols – refreshing face sprays, make-up setting sprays, soothing after-shave sprays.
• Alcohol-based perfume and body mists – travel size or samples that you want to hand out to try.
• Hair mists – light toning or protective sprays without thickeners.
• Refreshing hand sprays – alcohol-based solutions without a gel consistency.

Thick serums, oils and emulsions are dispensed poorly through a sprayer. The nozzle clogs or the contents squirt out in a stream instead of a mist. For such products, the same bottle with a different closure is more suitable.

Dispensing and filling

One press releases approximately 0.14 ml, which for 30 ml corresponds to roughly two hundred doses. From this figure you can easily work out the recommended number of sprays per use for your instructions.

The nominal volume of 30 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The physical volume up to the brim is slightly larger; the difference is a reserve for the tube and the sprayer mechanism. Fill the bottle only to the nominal volume. If it is overfilled, part of the contents will overflow when the sprayer is screwed on and remain in the thread.

Good to know

PET is lightweight and shatterproof, so the set is suitable for travelling as well as for the bathroom, where glass presents a risk. The material, however, does not tolerate high temperatures. Do not fill the bottle with hot solutions and do not sterilise it by boiling or in an oven. For contents with a higher proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend testing the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation, that is, whether the PET softens or turns cloudy and whether the sprayer still dispenses evenly after a few weeks.

The certificate for direct food contact applies to the bottle only. The sprayer has no such assessment, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics and we do not recommend it for food use.

The sprayer has an 18/415 neck finish. If you want to use the bottle with a different closure, you will find closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness and dispensing directly with your contents.

The PET bottle goes into plastic recycling. The sprayer combines plastic and aluminium, so unscrew it before disposal and discard it separately from the bottle.
