How the set works

The sprayer screws onto the neck of the bottle and draws the contents up from the bottom through a dip tube. One press releases approximately 0.14 ml, which at full volume corresponds to roughly seventy doses. The smoky overcap fits directly onto the sprayer head. It protects the nozzle from dust and from being pressed accidentally during transport.

When you use it for the first time, it is normal for the mist to appear only after several presses. The sprayer first has to draw the liquid from the bottle into the dip tube and the pump.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for under normal filling. The total brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck, and you can find it in the parameters. The difference between them provides room for the sprayer dip tube and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise the contents will be pushed out through the thread when the sprayer is screwed on.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle, rinse it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and leave it to dry completely. It is enough to flush the sprayer with pure ethanol by pressing it several times over a waste container. Residual water in the perfume causes cloudiness, so take particular care with drying when you use alcohol-based fills.

The sprayer works only with low-viscosity liquids. Pure vegetable oils, oil serums or thick toners containing a thickener will clog the nozzle, and the mist will turn into a stream or droplets. For fragrance compositions with a high proportion of essential oils, we recommend checking how the plastic parts of the sprayer behave with your specific formulation. Before a larger production run, also check that the whole set is leak-tight when lying on its side and upside down.

The bottle withstands repeated filling; between fills it is enough to wash and disinfect it in the same way. When you change the fragrance, rinse the sprayer more thoroughly, because residues of the previous composition in the dip tube would distort the new fragrance. For recycling, unscrew the sprayer. The glass goes in the glass recycling, while the sprayer, a combined product of plastic and aluminium, is sorted separately.
