Rounded Clear Plastic Bottle, Black Ribbed Plastic Cap, 100 ml

A transparent round plastic bottle with a black ribbed cap is a ready-to-fill complete set for liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic preparations in a volume of 100 ml. The PET bottle is lightweight and shatterproof, making it suitable for preparations carried in a bag, taken on trips or used in the shower and bathroom where glass would be a hazard. The transparent wall shows the colour and level of the contents, so the customer can see how much preparation remains.

The set is closed with a cap with a 24/410 thread and a sealing insert that keeps the contents securely closed even when the bottle is turned upside down. Both components of the set are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics; declarations of conformity can be found with the product.

What the set is suitable for

• Oils and oil serums – transparent PET lets the colour of the oil stand out, and with a screw cap the oil is easily dispensed by pouring into the palm.
• Tonics and facial waters – water-based preparations with low viscosity pour in a controlled manner from the narrow neck, without spilling.
• Liquid soaps, shampoos and shower gels in small packaging – the shatterproof bottle is safe in the wet environment of the bathroom and also works as a sample for customers.
• Travel and trial sizes – the 100 ml volume is practical for travel and the screw cap will not come undone on the way.
• Cleansing and make-up removal oils – thicker oil preparations are dispensed comfortably with a screw closure and the bottle stays clean.

Filling and volume

With every container it is important to distinguish between nominal volume and total capacity to the brim. The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for during normal filling, and this is the figure stated on the product label. The total capacity to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference between them provides a reserve for the closure and for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes, for example during transport in summer or in a warm bathroom.

Thicker preparations, such as gels or thick lotions, fill the bottle more slowly. When filling larger batches, a funnel or a filling bottle with a nozzle will help. Always fill with a cooled preparation, not a hot phase directly from the pot.

Closure and dispensing

The black PP cap has ridges around the circumference that make opening easy even with wet or greasy hands. Inside is a soft insert made of foam polyethylene, which rests on the neck and seals the contents. The cap is opened fully by unscrewing and the contents are dispensed by pouring – it is not a dispensing closure with an opening. The set is therefore better suited to preparations applied in larger amounts at once or poured into the palm, rather than those requiring precise drops.

What is good to know

Preparation before first filling. It is advisable to rinse and disinfect both the bottle and the cap before use with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in the container would dilute the preparation and impair its microbiological stability.

Light and content stability. Transparent PET does not protect the contents from light. Preparations sensitive to light, such as oils rich in unsaturated fatty acids, serums with vitamin C or preparations with a higher proportion of essential oils, are better stored away from direct sunlight, or a container of brown or blue glass or coloured plastic should be chosen.

Heat. PET deforms at higher temperatures. Do not sterilise the bottle by boiling or with hot steam, do not fill it with hot preparations and do not leave it in a car in the sun.

Repeated use. Both the bottle and the cap can be used repeatedly after thorough washing and disinfection. When refilling, check the sealing insert in the cap. If it is damaged or saturated with oil, replace the closure.

Labelling. The round cylindrical wall allows a wrap-around label or a smaller front and back label to be applied. Bottle dimensions can be found in the specifications. Self-adhesive labels hold reliably on smooth PET; apply them to a clean, dry and degreased surface.

Recycling. The PET bottle and the PP cap are recyclable plastics. Before disposal, simply empty the container and unscrew the cap.
