The glass bottle is a professional packaging intended for filling cosmetic preparations, tinctures, serums, oils and concentrated solutions, where an accurate dose and a representative appearance of the product are important. High-quality glass is suitable for liquid and slightly viscous formulations that need stable, chemically resistant and hygienically safe packaging. The decorative design with a glossy effect makes it possible to create a premium final product even in smaller limited series for home or artisanal production.
Glass bottles are compatible with various types of closures and dosing systems (for example screw caps, droppers, spray pumps or practical applicators) according to the selected parameters. Combinations of packaging and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test – checking the sealing, dosing accuracy and the behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation (especially with a high content of alcohol, active ingredients or essential oils).
All technical parameters of the packaging are given in the enclosed Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
Before first use we recommend mechanically cleaning the bottle (from dust and any residues from production) and then thoroughly disinfecting the inner and outer surface of the packaging. For disinfection you can use a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and let the bottle dry completely at room temperature. Only after it has dried completely is the packaging ready for filling with the final product.
Yes, the glass packaging can be used repeatedly if hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, however, the bottle must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected in order to minimize the risk of microbial contamination and deterioration of the product. For disinfection we recommend using a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured. After disinfection, let the packaging dry completely and only then refill it.
If you decide not to continue using the glass packaging, we recommend cleaning it from product residues and placing it in the collection container intended for glass according to local waste sorting rules. A closure or dispenser made of another material (plastic, metal, composite materials) should be separated and sorted separately according to the material designation in the product parameters. Recycling recommendations may differ slightly depending on the type of closure, so follow the information given for the specific product on the website and the local waste sorting system.
To select suitable packaging you can use the advanced filter, which is located at the top of the page after clicking on a specific packaging category. With the help of the filter you can quickly narrow down the offer according to parameters such as neck type, size and volume, colour of the packaging or material. In this way you can easily find the bottle, jar or pot that best corresponds to your product and the technical requirements of your formulation.
Glass packaging is in general very suitable for formulations with a higher content of essential oils, perfume components or alcohol, since glass has high chemical resistance and only minimally affects the composition of the product. Nevertheless, for every new formula we recommend making a trial test filling in a smaller quantity and monitoring the compatibility of the packaging with the chosen formulation (stability of colour, fragrance, viscosity and sealing of the closure) over several days to weeks.
When filling, it is important to work in the cleanest possible environment and to use suitable filling tools in order to minimize the introduction of impurities and air bubbles into the product. Do not overfill the bottle right up to the rim so that space is ensured for closing and for possible expansion of the contents. Store the finished product in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat. For transport we recommend using protective packaging that reduces the risk of impacts and mechanical damage to the glass.
