Product description

An aluminium bottle with a white lever sprayer is a lightweight and shatterproof set for applying liquid preparations as a fine mist. Aluminium blocks out light completely, so the contents are protected from it, and a bottle of this size fits comfortably in a handbag, travel bag, or work apron. It is particularly suited to facial mists, tonics, and refreshing sprays, hair waters, disinfectant and cleaning solutions based on water or alcohol, where you want to apply the contents evenly and without direct contact with the skin or surface.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity and technical documentation can be found on the product page. This set is not intended for contact with food.

Why choose this set

  • Light protection – the aluminium wall blocks light entirely, which you will appreciate with contents containing plant extracts, vitamins, or essential oils that lose efficacy or change scent when exposed to light.
  • Low weight and durability – the bottle is significantly lighter than glass of the same volume and will not shatter if dropped. It is therefore suited to travel, a sports bag, and operations where packaging is handled frequently.
  • Lever dispensing – the lever sprayer is operated with the whole palm, not a single finger as with a standard push-button sprayer. It is comfortable for repeated spraying and when applying a large number of doses in succession.
  • Fine, small dose – one press releases a small amount of contents as a dispersed mist that spreads evenly over the face, hair, or surface without running.
  • Smooth white collar – the closure has a clean look without knurling, complements the silver bottle, and pairs uniformly with a label of any colour.

What contents is the set suitable for

The sprayer works reliably with thin, watery liquids: hydrosols, tonics, facial and body mists, hair sprays, alcohol solutions, disinfectants, and cleaning solutions. The thinner the contents, the finer and more even the mist.

Thicker preparations (gel tonics, emulsions, oils with higher viscosity) are harder to spray; the mist tends to be coarser or droplets form. For such formulations, we recommend testing the sprayer's behaviour on a small sample before filling an entire batch. Contents with undissolved particles, exfoliating beads, or sediment are not suitable for the sprayer, as they clog the nozzle.

Aluminium is a metal. With prolonged contact with contents of markedly acidic or alkaline pH, salt solutions, or aggressive solvents, the bottle surface may react. Before filling a production batch, test the specific formulation in one bottle for several weeks and monitor any change in colour, scent, and the appearance of the inner surface.

Nominal and total volume

In the packaging parameters you will find two volume values. The nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is intended under normal filling, and it is this value that appears on the product label. The total volume to the rim is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck. The difference between them is the allowance for the dip tube and the sprayer mechanism, which takes up some space when screwed in, and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the rim. If overfilled, the contents may spill when the sprayer is fitted.

How to use the set

The sprayer comes with a longer dip tube, which is designed for bottles of various heights. Before first use, trim it with an angled cut so that it ends just above the bottom of the bottle. A tube that is too long will bend at the bottom and the sprayer will draw in less effectively; one that is too short will leave an unused residue at the bottom.

Before the first fill, rinse and disinfect the bottle and sprayer (for example with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol) and allow to dry completely. After disinfection, flush the sprayer several times with clean water and blow it out so that no residue remains in the nozzle. After filling, several presses of the lever are needed before the tube fills and the mist begins to spray evenly.

The sprayer does not seal the bottle completely like a solid cap, so it is not intended for transporting a full bottle on its side in luggage. For long-term storage or shipping to a customer, it is better to close the bottle with a cap of the same thread type and pack the sprayer separately, or to verify the seal with the specific formulation in a practical test.

Fill the contents into the bottle using a funnel or a dispensing pump, not directly from a larger container. The narrow neck and metal wall do not allow you to see the level, making it easy to overfill the bottle.

What is good to know

  • Label – the aluminium bottle has a smooth cylindrical body to which a self-adhesive label adheres well. Apply it to the flat part of the body, not over the shoulder of the bottle.
  • Heat – aluminium conducts heat, so the contents of the bottle will warm up and cool down more quickly with the ambient temperature. Do not leave the bottle in direct sunlight or near a heat source; contents containing essential oils or alcohol may expand.
  • Sprayer plastic – the mechanism is made of polypropylene, which is resistant to water, alcohol, and most cosmetic ingredients. Pure essential oils in high concentrations or organic solvents may damage the plastic over time or block the nozzle; we recommend testing with such contents.
  • Reuse – both the bottle and the sprayer can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection. When changing contents, always flush the sprayer with clean water so that previous residues do not mix with the new preparation.
  • Recycling – the aluminium bottle goes into metal waste, the sprayer into plastics. Before disposing, disassemble the set and empty the bottle.

Other closures with the same thread type and other ready-made packaging and closure combinations are available in the Handymade range. When creating your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing behaviour, and packaging performance with the specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Is the aluminium bottle with lever sprayer suitable for a facial mist or tonic?
Yes, the set is suitable for facial mists, tonics, and hydrosols, provided they have a thin, watery consistency. The lever sprayer produces a fine mist that spreads evenly over the face without running. Aluminium also protects the contents from light, which helps preserve the scent and colour of hydrosols and tonics containing plant ingredients. For more acidic tonics, we recommend a compatibility test with aluminium.
Does the aluminium bottle protect contents from light better than amber glass?
Yes, the aluminium wall blocks light entirely, whereas amber or blue glass only reduces it. For light-sensitive contents such as preparations with vitamin C, plant extracts, or essential oils, aluminium is more reliable from this perspective. The drawback is that you cannot see the fill level through the wall or any change in colour of the contents, so the condition of the contents must be checked after opening.
Can the aluminium bottle with sprayer be used for alcohol or disinfectant solutions?
Yes, the set is also suitable for alcohol solutions, disinfectants, and cleaning sprays based on water or ethanol. The polypropylene sprayer is resistant to alcohol and aluminium is stable against ethanol. For solutions with a high salt content, markedly acidic or alkaline pH, or with aggressive solvents, we recommend a several-week test in one bottle first.
Why is the 50 ml aluminium bottle not filled to the rim?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the rim, because the sprayer takes up some space with the dip tube and mechanism when screwed in, and the contents expand with temperature changes. If overfilled, the contents will spill when the sprayer is fitted.
Is the sprayer on the aluminium bottle leakproof during transport?
Not entirely — the lever sprayer does not seal the bottle like a solid cap, so we do not recommend transporting a full bottle on its side or in luggage. For transport or storage, it is better to close the bottle with a cap of the same thread type and pack the sprayer separately. We recommend verifying the seal with the specific contents in a practical test, as it also depends on the viscosity and surface tension of the formulation.
