Glass bottle with straight top is a universal packaging suitable for professional and home filling of cosmetics and other liquid or partially viscous preparations. Clear glass allows for instant visual inspection of the contents, giving you an overview of the colour, clarity and consumption of the product. In combination with a properly selected closure or dispenser it provides reliable protection of the formulation and an aesthetic, clean appearance suitable for retail as well as representative samples.
Glass belongs among the most stable packaging materials for cosmetics, therefore the bottle is also suitable for more sensitive formulations such as serums, active solutions or oil blends. For highly reactive or highly concentrated substances we recommend carrying out your own stability test under real storage and use conditions to verify the long-term compatibility of the packaging with the specific formulation.
The glass packaging can, if hygiene principles are observed, be reused for other types of products as well. Before each new filling, the bottle must be thoroughly cleaned and subsequently disinfected with a suitable disinfectant, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After disinfection, allow the container to dry completely and only then refill it, in order to minimise the risk of microbial contamination and the impact on product stability.
The method of recycling is governed by the material type indicated in the product parameters. After emptying and basic cleaning, the glass bottle is usually placed in the container designated for glass, while the closure (if made of a different material) must be sorted separately according to its marking. Before handing over to separate collection, we recommend removing product residues and labels to the extent allowed by local waste sorting rules. Always follow the recommendations given with the product and the local regulations for packaging recycling.
When filling, we recommend working in a clean environment, using suitable tools (funnels, pipettes, measuring vessels) and minimising the contact of the open product with air. After filling, always close the closure or dispenser securely and verify the tightness of the packaging by simply turning it upside down. When storing, avoid extreme temperatures and direct sunlight to prevent deterioration of the stability of the contents. Although glass is heat resistant, sudden thermal shocks (for example immediate pouring of very hot and very cold media) can cause stress and cracking of the material.
