Amber Glass Bottle, White Dropper, 50 ml

The amber glass medicine bottle, 50 ml, with white dropper is a ready-made set for packaging facial serums, oils and concentrated blends that are dispensed by the drop. Amber glass filters light, so it also suits contents sensitive to oxidation, for example oils with a higher proportion of unsaturated fatty acids or serums with active ingredients. The dropper with tamper-evident ring closes the bottle and also serves as the dispenser, so the packaging is ready for filling and sale without any further accessories.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. Only the glass bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact; the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.

What it is suitable for

The 50 ml volume corresponds to a common pack size for a facial serum, oil serum, hair or beard blend, or a smaller sample. With the dropper you take exactly as much as you need for a single use. With concentrated products this avoids wasting the contents and limits their contact with your hands.

• Oil serums and oil blends – dark glass slows the effect of light, and the dropper dispenses by the drop.
• Water-based and gel serums – thin formulations are easy to draw up with the dropper; with thicker gels, test the suction beforehand.
• Tinctures and alcohol extracts – glass does not react with ethanol or with essential oils, and the contents are dispensed by the drop into another mixture or directly.
• Hair and beard oils – the dropper applies the oil precisely to the scalp or into the palm without spilling.

Filling and volume

The nominal volume is the volume the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The brimful volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck, and you will find it in the parameters. The difference between them forms a reserve for the glass tube of the dropper, which displaces part of the contents upwards once screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle is therefore filled up to the nominal volume. If it were filled to the brim, the contents would be pushed into the neck after the dropper is fitted and would soil the thread.

Good to know

Before first use, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. The same applies to the glass tube of the dropper. The silicone head is cleaned without aggressive solvents; rinsing and drying is enough.

The dropper consists of a plastic closure, a silicone head and a glass tube. Mainly the glass comes into contact with the contents, so the set also suits formulations with essential oils or alcohol. With your own recipes containing solvents, we recommend checking the behaviour of the head in the finished formulation.

The tamper-evident ring separates from the closure when the bottle is first opened. The customer can thus see that nobody has opened the packaging before them, which is useful for sales as well as for samples.

The bottle can be reused; after washing and disinfection it is ready for further filling. When reusing the dropper, check it especially where the tube joins the closure, as residues of oil collect there. The glass goes in glass recycling; the dropper is separated before recycling because it combines several materials.
