The glass vial is a professional packaging solution designed primarily for precise dosing and safe storage of sensitive liquid formulations. Thanks to the high-quality glass, it is suitable for filling various cosmetic preparations, serums and concentrated blends, where the stability of the formula and minimisation of contact with external influences are important. The dark glass helps to reduce light penetration to the contents, which is particularly advantageous for products with a higher proportion of active substances that may be light-sensitive.
The aluminium cap with screw thread ensures reliable closure and helps protect against leakage of the contents as well as against unwanted ingress of contaminants. This compact bottle is practical for laboratories, workshops and production facilities, but also for smaller handmade series where professional packaging and a representative appearance of the product are important. Due to its chemical resistance and inertness, the glass material is suitable for oil-based and aqueous bases, perfumed compositions and concentrated extracts.
The standalone glass bottle is designed to be compatible with different types of closures and dosing systems according to the selected parameters. Depending on the application requirements, it can be combined with screw caps, droppers, spray pumps or practical applicators that enable more precise and hygienic dosing of the contents.
Combinations of packaging and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test – checking sealing, dosing and the behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation (viscosity, alcohol content, oil or water base, etc.).
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
Yes, the packaging can be used repeatedly if hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based product, for example isopropyl alcohol (IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol) or plant-based ethanol (Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based). This reduces the risk of microbial contamination and of affecting the stability of the new formulation by residues of the original product.
We recommend first rinsing the bottle with a suitable solvent according to the original contents (for example with oil for oil-based serums, followed by a mild cleaning agent and warm water). After mechanical cleaning, it is advisable to rinse the packaging thoroughly with clean water, allow it to dry completely and finally disinfect it with alcohol, for example with IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. The disinfection step helps reduce microbial load before refilling.
If you decide not to use the packaging further, we recommend sorting it into separated waste collection according to the material specified in the product parameters. As a rule, the glass bottle can be placed in the container intended for glass after removing any product residues. The metal, i.e. aluminium cap should be separated and sorted according to the local rules for collecting metal packaging. When recycling, it is always important to follow the local instructions of the municipality or waste collection company and the information in the product parameter table so that the material is correctly assigned to the waste stream.
The vial is particularly suitable for concentrated liquid formulations where dosing accuracy and content stability are important. In practice, this includes facial serums, active concentrates, oil elixirs, aromatherapeutic compositions, and test and laboratory solutions. Glass is a stable and inert material suitable for both oil-based and aqueous bases; however, we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test, especially for formulas with a high proportion of solvents or specific active substances.
To select suitable packaging, you can use the advanced filter, which is located at the top of the page after clicking on the relevant packaging category (for example bottles, vials or jars). In the advanced filter it is possible to combine several criteria at once – neck type, size, colour and packaging material. Using these parameters, you can easily narrow down the range to packaging that meets the technical requirements of your formulation and your visual idea of the final product.
