Product description

Glass bottle, translucent milky, with white sprayer, 15 ml

A small glass bottle with a white sprayer is designed for fine misting of liquid cosmetic preparations in a travel size. It is a ready-made packaging and closure set: a frosted, milky translucent glass bottle and a plastic sprayer with a white head. Suitable for facial mists, hydrolates, tonics, perfume waters, or samples that you want to dispense by spraying rather than pouring. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics; the declaration of conformity can be found on the product page.

Why frosted glass and a small volume

  • Frosted milky surface – diffuses light and gives the bottle a muted appearance, while the contents remain visible so you can see how much is left. It does not provide light protection like brown glass.
  • Glass is chemically inert – it does not absorb fragrances and does not react with alcohol or essential oils, making it suitable for alcohol-based perfume waters and preparations with a higher proportion of fragrance ingredients.
  • 15 ml volume – suitable for travel packaging, customer samples, or preparations that are used up quickly and should not stand open for months.
  • Fine-mist sprayer – a single press releases approximately 0.13 ml, allowing even application of a tonic or mist to the face without excess.

How the set works

The sprayer draws the contents through a tube from the bottom of the bottle and disperses it into fine droplets when pressed. It works best with thin aqueous or alcohol-based liquids. The thicker the liquid, the worse it sprays. Thick serums, gels, or thickened tonics may come out of the nozzle as a stream instead of a mist, or may clog the mechanism. Pure vegetable oils disperse poorly through this type of sprayer and form droplets at the head.

For preparations with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend testing the sprayer's behaviour on a small sample. The glass will withstand them, but the head and tube are made of polypropylene, which is resistant, though it is worth checking the seal and function after a few days with concentrated fragrance components.

The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The total volume up to the neck is larger, and the difference serves as a reserve: part of the space is taken up by the sprayer tube when screwed in, and part remains for the contents to expand with temperature changes. If you overfill the bottle, the contents will leak through the thread when the head is screwed on.

What the set is suitable for

  • Facial mists and tonics – aqueous preparations with hydrolates, glycerin, hyaluronic acid, or water-soluble active ingredients.
  • Perfume and toilet waters – an alcohol base sprays very well and the glass does not react with fragrance components.
  • Hydrolates for refreshing – rose, lavender, or cornflower hydrolate as a standalone product in travel size.
  • Samples for testing – the 15 ml volume is practical for customers to try a formulation before purchasing a larger size.
  • Disinfectant and refreshing hand sprays – alcohol-based.

Aqueous preparations in a sprayer need preservation just like in a regular bottle. The sprayer reduces contact of the contents with fingers, but air is drawn into the bottle with each press.

Good to know

Before first use, wash, rinse, and disinfect the bottle with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. Flush the sprayer by pressing it several times in clean water and then in alcohol. Allow both parts to dry completely; residual water would dilute the contents and could promote microbial growth.

Reuse is no problem with glass. The sprayer can be cleaned, but when changing the type of contents — for example, from perfume water to hydrolate — fragrance residues may remain in the tube and nozzle. For cosmetics intended for sale, we recommend using a new sprayer.

Labelling: the frosted glass surface holds self-adhesive labels well, but the label area on a 15 ml bottle is small. For alcohol-based preparations, choose a label with alcohol-resistant adhesive, otherwise it will peel off when the contents spill.

Closures: if you want a different closure instead of the sprayer, choose from closures with the same neck type in the Handymade range. With a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal and dosage with the specific formulation.

Glass and heat: do not fill the bottle with hot contents and do not expose it to sudden temperature changes. The plastic sprayer is not designed for hot liquids.

Recycling: glass goes into glass waste, the polypropylene sprayer into plastics. Disassemble the set before disposal.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 15 ml glass bottle with sprayer suitable for perfume water?
Yes, the set is suitable for alcohol-based perfume and toilet waters. The glass does not react with alcohol or fragrance ingredients, and the sprayer disperses the alcohol base into a fine mist. The small volume is practical for travel or as a fragrance sample. With a very high proportion of essential oils, we recommend first testing the behaviour of the plastic head on a small sample.
Can you spray oil through this sprayer?
No, pure vegetable oils disperse poorly through this sprayer. The mechanism is designed for thin aqueous and alcohol-based liquids. Oil comes out of the nozzle as a stream or droplets, and the head clogs quickly. For oils, we recommend a bottle with a dropper or pump.
How much can be poured into the 15 ml bottle?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 15 ml, not to the brim. The physical volume up to the neck is larger, but the difference is taken up by the sprayer tube and serves as a reserve for the contents to expand with temperature changes. If you pour in more, the contents will overflow through the thread when the head is screwed on.
Does frosted milky glass protect the contents from light?
Only partially. The frosted milky surface diffuses light but does not provide the same protection as brown or blue glass. For light-sensitive preparations, such as those with vitamin C, we recommend dark glass and storage away from direct light. The advantage of frosted glass is that the contents remain visible so you can see how much is left.
Does a tonic in a sprayer need a preservative?
Yes, aqueous preparations in a sprayer require preservation just like in a regular bottle. The sprayer does prevent contact of the contents with fingers, but air is drawn into the bottle with each press. Without a preservative, microorganisms can grow in hydrolates and tonics within just a few days.
