Product description

The glass bottle with fine mist sprayer, 30 ml, is intended for liquid preparations applied by spraying: facial toners, hydrolates, refreshing mists or fragrances in an alcohol base. Blue glass lets through less light than clear glass, which helps protect contents that are sensitive to light, such as preparations with vitamins or essential oils. The small volume suits samples, travel packs and preparations that are used up quickly and do not need a large stock.

The set is supplied as a ready-made pair: a pharmaceutical bottle with an 18 mm neck and a white plastic fine mist sprayer with a dip tube. With each press, the sprayer releases approximately 0.13 ml of the contents, which is enough to cover the face or a smaller area of skin evenly without the product running off. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics; you will find the declaration of conformity with the product. It is not intended for food.

What it is suitable for

  • Facial toners and hydrolates – the sprayer disperses low-viscosity water-based preparations into a fine mist that does not run on the skin.
  • Fragrances in an alcohol base – colognes and perfume sprays in travel packs, or samples for customers.
  • Body and hair mists and sprays – light preparations without an oil phase or with a solubilised oil content.
  • Working solutions – for example, alcohol for disinfecting work surfaces and tools when making cosmetics.

The sprayer is designed for thin liquids. Pure vegetable oils, emulsions and thicker serums do not pass through it evenly; they may clog the nozzle or come out as a stream instead of a mist. A bottle with a dropper or a pump is more suitable for such preparations.

Filling and volume

The nominal volume of 30 ml is the amount the bottle is intended to hold with normal filling. The brimful volume given in the parameters is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the dip tube of the sprayer, which pushes part of the contents upwards once screwed on, and for the expansion of the liquid with changes in temperature.

Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If you fill up to the neck, the contents overflow when the sprayer is fitted and part of them is wasted.

Before first use, we recommend washing the bottle and the sprayer, rinsing them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and letting them dry completely. Residual water in the tube would otherwise mix with the preparation.

Good to know

After filling, first prime the sprayer by pressing it several times until the tube and the mechanism fill with liquid. Only then does it dispense evenly. If the dip tube reaches the very bottom and bends, you can shorten it with a diagonal cut just above the bottom so that it also draws up the last remnants of the contents.

The sprayer mechanism is made of polypropylene. It works without problems with water-based and alcohol-based preparations. With a high proportion of undiluted essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking how the plastic behaves on one piece before you fill the whole batch.

Glass does not tolerate sudden changes in temperature. Let a hot solution cool before filling, and do not move the bottle straight from the cold into the warm.

The bottle is reusable; after thorough washing and disinfection, it can be filled again. With strongly scented preparations, bear in mind that the plastic sprayer may retain the odour. At the end of its life, glass belongs in glass waste and the sprayer in plastics; separate them before disposal.

Closures with the same neck type, as well as other ready-made bottle and closure combinations, can be found in the Handymade range. If you are making your own combination, we recommend verifying the tightness and dispensing with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Does the blue glass bottle protect the contents from light?
Blue glass lets through less light than clear glass, so it slows down changes in contents that are sensitive to light. However, it does not give complete protection. For preparations with vitamin C or essential oils, we therefore recommend also storing the bottle away from direct sunlight and using the preparation within a reasonable time.
Can the 30 ml glass bottle with sprayer be used for food?
No, this set is intended for cosmetics and is not approved for contact with food. The bottle and the sprayer are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products, and the declaration of conformity is provided with the product. Fill the bottle with toners, hydrolates, fragrance sprays or working solutions, not with drinks, cooking oils or other food.
Can the glass bottle with sprayer be reused?
Yes, the bottle and the sprayer can be washed and refilled once empty. Before refilling, rinse them with warm water, spray isopropyl alcohol or ethanol through the sprayer and let everything dry completely. When changing to a differently scented preparation, bear in mind that the plastic may partly retain the original fragrance.
Is the sprayer suitable for oil-based preparations?
Not for pure oils and emulsions; the sprayer is intended for thin water-based and alcohol-based liquids. Thicker contents come out as a stream or clog the nozzle. Oil sprays only work when the oil has a very low viscosity, but even then we recommend testing the dispensing on one piece first.
How much product does the sprayer release with one press?
One press releases approximately 0.13 ml, which is a fine mist covering the face or a smaller area. From a bottle filled to 30 ml, you therefore get over two hundred doses, depending on how fully the sprayer is pressed. Before first use, the mechanism must be primed by pressing it several times until it fills with liquid.
