Opaque black glass is a practical choice for formulations containing oils, antioxidants, aromatic components or other sensitive active ingredients. Dark glass helps reduce exposure to light and thus supports the stability of the contents. For very sensitive formulations, we recommend carrying out your own stability tests and verifying the behaviour of the specific formulation over time.

The glass bottle can be reused if correct hygiene principles are followed. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned and subsequently disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example the products IPA 99 – isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured, which you can find at /ipa-99-isopropyl-alkohol-1-l/ and /etanol-96-denaturovany-rastlinny-1-l/. Use the packaging repeatedly only as long as it is not mechanically damaged and the cap seal remains fully functional.

When choosing a closure or dispenser, it is important to adapt the solution to the consistency and method of use of the product. Droppers and pipettes are suitable for serums and concentrated oils, spray pumps for toners and liquid sprays, and classic screw caps for simple solutions or products that will be dosed separately. On Handymade, only combinations of packaging and closures that fit dimensionally are available; nevertheless, we recommend testing each set for tightness and dosing before full use.

Before the first filling and during repeated use, we recommend thoroughly rinsing the bottle with a suitable cleaning agent, rinsing with clean water and allowing it to dry completely. It is then advisable to disinfect the inner surface with an alcohol solution, for example with preparations available at /ipa-99-isopropyl-alkohol-1-l/ or /etanol-96-denaturovany-rastlinny-1-l/. Packaging prepared in this way minimizes the risk of microbial contamination of the new product.

If you decide not to use the packaging further, we recommend recycling it according to the recommendations given in the parameter table for the product. Glass containers are usually sorted into containers intended for glass, and plastic or combined closures must be sorted separately according to the specified material. Before recycling, empty the packaging and, if possible, remove any remaining contents. By following the recommended sorting, you support the reuse of the material and reduce the amount of waste.
