Amber Glass Bottle, Black Aluminium Cap, 100 ml

The amber glass medicine bottle with a black aluminium cap is a ready-to-use 100 ml bottle for liquid cosmetic products that are dispensed by pouring or stored in larger quantities: facial and body oils, toners, hydrosols, tinctures, massage blends or work-in-progress formulation bases. Amber glass filters light and helps keep contents that are damaged by daylight stable, such as vegetable oils and blends with essential oils. The narrow neck with an 18/410 neck finish makes it easy to pour the contents and to decant them into smaller bottles.

The aluminium cap has an expanded polyethylene foam (EPE) liner inside, which sits against the rim of the neck when tightened and closes the bottle. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

What it is suitable for

• Plant and oil serums – amber glass limits the access of light, which speeds up the oxidation of oils and changes in their scent. The contents are poured into the palm or decanted into a smaller bottle with a dropper for daily use.
• Toners, hydrosols and facial waters – glass does not react with the contents and does not leave any odour in them. Pour onto a cotton pad or into the palm.
• Tinctures and alcohol extracts – glass withstands alcohol even during long storage and does not change the scent of the contents. We recommend testing the tightness of the cap with your specific formulation when the contents contain alcohol.
• Stock and working bottles – measured oil phases, intermediate products, samples for customers or test batches that need to be stored away from light.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 100 ml is the amount the medicine bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume is the physical volume up to the top of the neck, and we state it in the parameters. The difference between the two values leaves room for the closure and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume. If the bottle is filled to the brim, part of the contents is pushed onto the thread when the cap is tightened and the liner does not seal.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash and rinse the medicine bottle and disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, then leave it to dry completely upside down. Residual water in an oil-based or anhydrous product reduces stability and creates conditions for microbial growth. For the cap and its liner, simply wipe them with alcohol and leave them to air.

Sudden temperature changes are not good for glass. Do not pour hot contents into a cold bottle, and do not put a filled medicine bottle into the refrigerator until the contents have cooled to room temperature. Tighten the cap by hand, without tools.

If you combine them yourself, we recommend testing the tightness, the dispensing and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation, especially for contents with essential oils and alcohol.

At the end of its life, the glass belongs in glass recycling and the aluminium cap in metal recycling. Rinse the packaging before disposal and separate the two parts.
