Product description

Amber glass medicine bottle, white fine mist sprayer, 100 ml

The amber glass medicine bottle with a volume of 100 ml and a white plastic fine mist sprayer is a ready-made set for your own sprays: facial toners, hydrosols, refreshing face and body sprays, hair sprays and alcohol-based solutions. Amber glass filters out light, so hydrosols and products with essential oils or active ingredients stay stable for longer than in clear packaging. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products, and both the bottle and the sprayer have their own declaration of conformity.

The medicine bottle with a narrow neck sits well in the hand and takes up little space on a shelf or in a cosmetic bag. The sprayer screws directly onto the neck and the dip tube reaches the bottom, so the contents can be dispensed almost to the last millilitre.

What the set includes

  • Amber glass medicine bottle, 100 ml – amber glass, nominal volume 100 ml.
  • White plastic fine mist sprayer – polypropylene (PP) mechanism with a clear overcap over the nozzle and a dip tube reaching the bottom of the bottle.

How to use the set

The sprayer is designed for low-viscosity liquids: water-based and alcohol-based solutions, hydrosols, toners and thin hair sprays. The nozzle will not turn thick serums, gels or pure vegetable oils into a fine mist. It will produce a stream instead, or the mechanism will clog. If you want an oil component in the spray, work with a solubiliser or with light, thin oils, and test how the formulation behaves in the sprayer beforehand.

One press releases approximately 0.13 ml. A full bottle therefore delivers a few hundred doses, which is useful when estimating consumption or calculating how much active ingredient reaches the skin with a single spray.

Before the first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and let it dry completely. Rinse the sprayer with clean water and pump it several times “dry” to clear any residues from the dip tube and nozzle.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the amount the packaging is designed for under normal filling, in this case 100 ml. The brimful volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the top of the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides room for the dip tube and the body of the sprayer, which take up part of the space once screwed on, and for slight expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. For this reason, fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If you fill up to the neck, part of the contents will be pushed out when the sprayer is fitted.

Good to know

  • Food contact – only the glass bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact. The sprayer does not have such a certificate, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.
  • Reuse – after thorough cleaning and disinfection, the glass can be used again. After longer use, check that the sprayer nozzle is not clogged and that the mechanism still seals properly.
  • Recycling – at the end of its life, the bottle is sorted as glass and the sprayer as plastic; you only need to unscrew them from each other.

The sprayer is not intended for contents with solid particles, for example undissolved salt grains, scrub particles or herb residues. The nozzle will clog and the mechanism will stop dispensing.

If you want to combine the same bottle with a different closure, dropper or pump, Handymade offers closures with the same neck type as well as ready-made sets. When you create your own combination, check the seal, the dispensing and how the packaging behaves with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 100 ml amber glass medicine bottle with a sprayer suitable for hydrosols and toners?
Yes, water-based and alcohol-based contents with low viscosity are the best match for this set. Hydrosols, facial toners and refreshing sprays are dispersed into a fine mist, and the amber glass also filters out light that could degrade them. Water-based products without a preservative have a short shelf life, so fill smaller quantities or preserve the formulation properly.
Can I use oil in the 100 ml amber glass medicine bottle with a sprayer?
Pure vegetable oils are not suitable for this sprayer. A thicker liquid will not be dispersed into a mist, the nozzle will produce a stream and the mechanism will gradually clog. If you need an oil-based spray, work with thin oils or with a solubiliser in the water phase, and test how the formulation behaves in the sprayer beforehand.
How much fits into the 100 ml amber glass medicine bottle with a sprayer?
The bottle is filled with 100 ml, which is its nominal volume. The brimful volume is slightly larger and serves as a reserve for the sprayer’s dip tube and for slight expansion of the contents. If you fill it up to the neck, part of the liquid will be pushed out once the sprayer is screwed on, so do not fill to the brim.
How do I prepare the amber glass medicine bottle with a sprayer before first use?
Wash the bottle with warm water, disinfect it with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and let it air dry upside down. Rinse the sprayer with clean water and press it several times to flush any residues out of the dip tube and nozzle. Do not fill damp packaging, as residual water would dilute the contents and could encourage the growth of microorganisms.
Is the 100 ml amber glass medicine bottle with a sprayer suitable for food?
The set as a whole is not declared for food contact. Only the glass bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact; the plastic sprayer does not. As an assembly with the sprayer, the packaging is intended for cosmetic products, for which both components have a declaration of conformity.
Does the amber glass medicine bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, amber glass absorbs a significant part of the UV radiation that accelerates the breakdown of sensitive ingredients. It is therefore suitable for hydrosols, products with essential oils and toners with active ingredients. The protection is not complete, so store even amber packaging away from direct sunlight.
