Product description
Glass bottle with a dropper for precise drop-by-drop dispensing. The Glass bottle, blue, white glossy dropper, 10 ml set combines a blue glass medicine bottle with a white glossy dropper, so the packaging is ready to use as soon as it is filled. The contents are drawn up without touching them with your fingers and in the amount you actually need. The small volume suits concentrated facial serums, facial and nail oils, essential oil blends, tinctures, samples or travel-size portions of products that are dispensed in small amounts.
What the set is suited for
- Facial serums and oil serums – products with active ingredients that are applied in just a few drops.
- Essential oil blends and perfume concentrates – the dropper lets you measure an exact number of drops into a diffuser, massage oil or formulation.
- Nail oils and cuticle oils – a small volume and application directly where it is needed.
- Tinctures and alcohol extracts – glass is resistant to alcohol.
- Samples and test batches – 10 ml is enough to try out a new formulation before making a larger quantity.
How to use the set
The dropper simply screws onto the bottle; you will find the thread type in the parameters. To draw up the contents, squeeze the bulb with the dropper immersed and release it to suck the liquid in, then squeeze again to dispense one drop at a time. Thicker oils dispense more slowly, while water-based and alcohol-based contents dispense faster. The number of drops per millilitre therefore depends on the viscosity of the particular formulation.
The dropper is made of glass, plastic (PP) and silicone. The glass part comes into contact with the contents, and the white glossy head acts as the closure. With concentrated essential oils and solvents, we recommend checking how the silicone and plastic parts behave with your particular blend.
Fill the bottle up to the nominal volume of 10 ml, not to the brim. The immersed part of the dropper needs space, otherwise the contents will be pushed out through the neck when you close the bottle.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume is the volume the packaging is designed for under normal filling, here 10 ml. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck, and you will find it in the parameters. The difference between the two provides a reserve for the immersed part of the dropper and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Always fill up to the nominal volume.
Good to know
Before the first filling, we recommend that you wash and disinfect the bottle and the dropper with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. Residual water could affect anhydrous oil formulations or dilute the preservative system of water-based products.
The glass bottle withstands repeated use. Once it is empty, simply wash it in warm water with washing-up liquid, rinse it and disinfect it. Clean the dropper separately. Pump warm water through it several times and then ethanol, so that no oil residues remain in the glass part. Sudden temperature changes are not good for glass, so let a hot formulation cool down before filling.
Both the bottle and the dropper are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products, and the declaration is available with the product. The set is not intended for food, so please do not use it for homemade syrups or edible oils.
Blue glass holds back part of the light, but it does not protect the contents from light completely. Store light-sensitive products out of direct sunlight and in a cooler environment.
Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations of a bottle with a closure are available in the Handymade range. If you combine parts yourself, we recommend checking the tightness and dispensing with your particular formulation. After use, the glass bottle belongs in glass recycling; as the dropper is a combination of materials, we recommend separating it and disposing of it on its own.
