Clear Glass Bottle, White Spray, 30 ml

A glass bottle with a spray pump of nominal volume 30 ml is a small set designed for cosmetic preparations applied by spraying. The clear glass shows the contents and their clarity, the white spray pump is matched to the bottle neck and dispenses a fine mist. The set is particularly suitable for facial tonics, hydrolats and refreshing mists, thin hair sprays, alcohol-based perfume waters, samples, travel sizes and testers for retail. What the set offers

• Glass with no effect on the contents – glass is chemically stable, does not react with aqueous or alcoholic contents, and does not absorb fragrances, so it can be washed and reused for a different product.
• Transparency – the contents are visible at a glance, which is an advantage for testers, samples and monitoring the product status. Clear glass, however, does not protect the contents from light.
• Spray pump with dip tube – dispenses a repeatable small dose and the contents are applied evenly without finger contact with the product, reducing the risk of contamination of leave-on preparations.
• Small volume – suitable for products with a shorter shelf life, for preservative-free preparations intended for quick use, and for smaller batches during formula development.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the quantity for which the bottle is intended at standard filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is always slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the submerged dip tube and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If overfilled, part of the contents will be pushed out through the neck when the spray pump is screwed on.

Which contents are suitable for the spray pump

The spray pump works best with thin aqueous and alcoholic liquids: tonics, hydrolats, facial mists, perfume waters, hair sprays without thickeners. Preparations with higher viscosity, such as thickened serums or heavy emulsions, cannot be dispersed into a mist by the spray pump and the nozzle may clog. Thin oil-based blends will pass through the spray pump but often spray in a stream rather than a mist. It is advisable to verify suitability with the specific formulation.

The spray pump is made of polypropylene. For contents with a higher proportion of essential oils or with solvents, we recommend monitoring the behaviour of the plastic parts during a test period, particularly the seal integrity and the condition of the nozzle.

Preparation and filling

Before first filling, both the bottle and the spray pump are washed, disinfected with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and left to dry completely. Residual water could dilute the contents or promote the growth of microorganisms in an unpreserved preparation. Filling is done through the neck using a funnel or syringe to keep the thread clean and ensure the spray pump seats properly.

The dip tube of the spray pump should reach just above the bottom of the bottle. If it protrudes, it is trimmed with a sharp knife or scissors with a straight cut. A tube that is too long will bend at the bottom and the spray pump will not draw up the remaining contents.

Good to know

• Preservation – aqueous and hydrolat-based contents require a preservative even in a small bottle with a spray pump. Although the spray pump prevents finger contact with the contents, air is drawn into the bottle with each press.
• Reuse – the glass can be used multiple times. After emptying, the spray pump is rinsed with clean water and then with ethanol to remove residues from the tube and nozzle. When changing the fragrance, a new spray pump is recommended.
• Labelling – a label adheres well to smooth cylindrical glass. For alcoholic contents, an alcohol-resistant adhesive is used.
• Closures – the spray pump is part of the set. Additional closures with the same neck type and ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range. For custom combinations, we recommend verifying the seal and the behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation.
• Recycling – once the spray pump is removed, the glass is sorted as glass and the spray pump as plastic.
