Product description

A brown glass bottle with a volume of 100 ml packaged together with a pump dispenser is a container for liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic products dispensed in small doses. It is suitable for facial and body oils, serums, cleansing oils, hair oils, or thinner facial milks. Brown glass limits light exposure to the contents, which is particularly beneficial for formulations containing vegetable oils, extracts, and light-sensitive active ingredients.

The dispenser delivers a small, repeatable dose with each press, so the contents are neither scooped out with fingers nor poured over the neck. The transparent cap protects the pump head from dust and accidental pressing, for example in the bathroom or during transport. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics.

Suitable uses for the set

  • Facial and body oils – a small dose makes application easier and more economical.
  • Serums and light emulsions – contents are dispensed without opening the bottle, minimising contact with hands.
  • Cleansing and hair oils – one-handed dispensing is practical for everyday use.
  • Thinner facial and body milks – the dispenser draws up liquid consistency without difficulty.

For thicker products, we recommend testing the dispensing with a small sample. Highly viscous contents are drawn up slowly, and the last portion may remain on the bottom and sides of the bottle.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume of 100 ml is the volume the bottle is designed for under standard filling conditions. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference serves as a reserve for the dispenser mechanism and dip tube, and for content expansion due to temperature changes.

What is good to know

Before first filling, the bottle is washed, sanitised with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and left to dry completely. The dispenser is cleaned by pumping through: first with warm water, then with alcohol. It is then left to dry thoroughly, including the dip tube. Glass tolerates sudden temperature changes poorly, so hot contents should not be filled into a cold bottle.

The dispenser contains plastic parts. For products with a high proportion of essential oils, alcohol, or solvents, we recommend testing its behaviour with the specific formulation on a trial sample.

The food-grade certification for direct contact with food applies to the glass bottle alone. The dispenser does not hold this certification, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic use only.

Dimensions required for the label are listed in the bottle's parameters. Individual closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal and dispensing performance with the specific product. Before sorting for recycling, the dispenser — made from a combination of plastic and aluminium — is separated from the glass bottle.

Frequently asked questions

Does a brown glass bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, brown glass limits light exposure to the contents, which matters for oils prone to oxidation and for light-sensitive active ingredients. The protection is not complete, so products should still not be stored in direct sunlight. Glass offers no protection against heat, so a cooler storage location is also worthwhile.
Is the bottle with a pump dispenser suitable for thick creams?
Not really — the dispenser is intended for liquid and semi-liquid products such as oils, serums, and thinner milks. A thick cream or gel is drawn up slowly through the dip tube, doses tend to be uneven, and some contents will remain in the bottle. For thick consistencies, a jar is more practical.
How much should be filled into a 100 ml bottle with a pump dispenser?
The bottle should be filled to the nominal volume of 100 ml, not to the brim. Once the dispenser mechanism and dip tube are screwed on, they displace some of the contents and therefore need free space below the neck. Filling to the brim would cause the contents to overflow through the thread, soiling both the bottle and the label.
Can the bottle with a pump dispenser be reused?
Yes, the glass bottle can be refilled after washing and sanitising with alcohol. The dispenser is harder to clean: residues of the original product — particularly oils and emulsions — may remain inside the mechanism even after rinsing. When changing the formulation, especially when switching to water-based products, it is safer to use a new dispenser.
Is the bottle and pump dispenser set suitable for food use?
No, the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic use. The food-contact certification applies only to the glass bottle itself; the dispenser does not hold it. For home oils, syrups, or herbal extracts, a bottle with a closure that carries confirmed food-contact suitability is the right choice.
