Product description

The 10 ml pump bottle solves one task: delivering serum or oil to the skin in a precisely measured amount, without fingers touching the contents. The transparent glass bottle lets the colour of the filling show through; the glossy black-gold pump with a clear cap gives the packaging a look that holds its own in gift sets and presentation kits.

Suitable for facial and eye serums, light oil blends, fluids, primers, and concentrated active preparations. The small volume makes the kit a practical solution for samples, testers, and travel sizes of more expensive formulations, where it makes more sense to fill smaller amounts more frequently than to store a large stock.

What the kit is suitable for

  • Facial and eye serums – both water-based and gel serums with low to medium viscosity are reliably dispensed in a quantity sufficient for one application.
  • Facial oils and oil blends – anhydrous oil preparations are applied cleanly, without running down the bottle wall.
  • Light emulsions and fluids – liquid creams and milks pass through the pump without problems; thick creams and butters do not.
  • Samples and travel sizes – the volume corresponds to approximately one month of serum use at standard dosing, making the kit suitable for introductory product sizes as well.

How the pump works

The pump releases approximately 0.3 ml of product with one full press, which is a standard single dose of serum for the face. Before first use, press it several times on empty until the tube fills and the dose stabilises. The transparent cap protects the head from dust and accidental pressing in a bag.

The tube reaches to the bottom of the bottle and draws the contents from below. If, after assembling the kit, it extends past the bottom and prevents the thread from tightening, trim it with a straight cut using a sharp knife to the height of the bottle.

The pump is designed for liquid and semi-liquid products. Thick creams, butters, and preparations with solid particles (exfoliating beads, undissolved pigments) will clog it or cannot be drawn through the tube.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for with standard filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is the allowance for the tube and pump body, which push part of the contents upward when tightened, and also the space for the contents to expand with changes in temperature. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Otherwise, when the pump is fitted, the contents will be pushed out through the neck.

Good to know

Clear glass does not protect the contents from light. Formulations with sensitive active ingredients, such as vitamin C, retinol, or unrefined oils prone to oxidation, should be stored in a box or in the dark, or consider using amber or blue glass instead. For standard serums and oils stabilised with an antioxidant, this is not an issue with a short period of use.

The kit is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics; the declaration of conformity and documentation are available with the product. The kit is not approved for contact with food, so it is not suitable for household oils, syrups, or other food products.

Before the first fill, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and let it dry completely. For the pump, a rinse with clean water or alcohol and letting it drip dry is sufficient. You cannot reach inside the mechanism during cleaning, so when changing the product or for repeated use, we recommend fitting a new pump instead.

Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes. Allow a heated product to cool to at least room temperature before filling, and do not fill a cold bottle with hot contents.

At such a small diameter, a narrow wrap-around label works better than a large sticker. The bottle belongs in glass waste; the pump consists of plastic and an aluminium sleeve, so sort it separately from glass.

Both the bottle and the pump are available individually in the Handymade range. When combining them with a different closure of the same neck type, we recommend verifying the seal, dosing, and packaging behaviour with the specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 10 ml glass pump bottle suitable for vitamin C serum?
Yes, the pump reliably dispenses the serum, but the clear glass does not protect it from light. Vitamin C and similarly sensitive ingredients lose their effectiveness and change colour more quickly with prolonged exposure to light. We therefore recommend storing the kit in a box or in the dark, or choosing amber or blue glass with the same neck type for such formulations.
Can the pump on the 10 ml bottle be used for thick creams or butters?
No, the pump is designed for liquid and semi-liquid products. Thick creams, butters, and preparations with solid particles will not be drawn in or will clog the pump. Suitable fillings are serums, oils, fluids, and light emulsions that flow freely. For thick textures, use a jar or a bottle with a different type of closure.
How much product does the pump on the 10 ml bottle release with one press?
With one full press, the pump releases approximately 0.3 ml, which corresponds to a standard single dose of serum for the face. Before first use, press it several times on empty to fill the tube. The actual dose also depends on the viscosity of the product; thicker preparations come out in a smaller amount.
Why should the 10 ml glass bottle not be filled to the brim?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume because the tube and pump body push part of the contents upward when tightened. If filled to the brim, the contents overflow through the neck and contaminate the thread, which impairs the seal. The allowance between the nominal and total volume also leaves space for the contents to expand with changes in temperature.
Can the glass pump bottle be washed and reused?
The glass bottle can be — wash it, disinfect it with alcohol, and let it dry. The pump cannot be fully cleaned on the inside, and residues of the previous product in the tube and mechanism can contaminate a new filling. When changing the formulation or after extended use, we therefore recommend keeping the bottle and replacing the pump with a new one.
Is the 10 ml glass pump bottle also suitable for facial oils?
Yes, anhydrous facial oils and oil blends are among the most suitable fillings for this kit. Glass does not react with oils and the pump applies them cleanly without dripping. For blends with a higher proportion of essential oils, we recommend verifying the behaviour of the plastic parts of the pump in the specific formulation, particularly with longer storage.
