Is this packaging suitable for repeated use?

Yes, the bottle can be used repeatedly if handled correctly and if hygiene principles are followed. Before each new filling, we recommend thoroughly cleaning the packaging and then disinfecting it with a suitable product, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection you can use products available on Handymade, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Only after the inner surface and the dispensing mechanism are completely dry is the packaging ready for the next filling.

You offer many types of packaging – how can I find the right one for my product?

When searching for a suitable bottle or vial, we recommend using the advanced filter in the packaging material categories. With it you can conveniently filter by neck type, size, colour and material of the packaging, or by other parameters. In this way, you can quickly narrow down the selection to the packaging that best matches your product and your requirements for appearance and functionality.

How should the bottle be properly prepared before the first filling?

Before the first filling we recommend first mechanically cleaning the bottle and the dispensing mechanism from dust and any residues from production, then rinsing them with a suitable medium according to the type of formulation (for example boiled and cooled water or a suitable solvent) and finally disinfecting them. For disinfection of the internal surfaces it is ideal to use high-percentage alcohol, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After disinfection, let all parts dry completely and only then fill the packaging.

What should I do if I change the type of product that I want to fill into the packaging?

When changing the type of product (for example from a cream emulsion to a gel, or from a cosmetic product to a hygiene solution), it is important to thoroughly clean the bottle and the dispenser in order to prevent residues of the original product and undesirable interactions. We recommend using a suitable cleaning agent according to the nature of the original contents, followed by disinfection with high-percentage alcohol. At the same time, it is advisable to carry out a trial filling with a smaller amount of the new product and verify that the dosing, sealing and behaviour of the packaging material with respect to the new formulation are trouble-free.

How can I safely dispose of and recycle this packaging if I do not want to continue using it?

If you decide not to reuse the bottle, we recommend emptying it as much as possible before disposal and discarding any remaining product in accordance with the nature of the contents (cosmetics, cleaning agents, etc.). The method of recycling needs to be adapted to the material specified in the product parameters in the table on the Handymade website. According to this labelling, place the packaging into the appropriate sorted waste (for example a plastic container). If the packaging is made up of several types of materials, we recommend separating them where possible (bottle body, dispensing mechanism) and recycling each part in accordance with its material. In this way you minimize the environmental impact and at the same time comply with local waste-sorting rules.
