Product description

A glass bottle with dispenser, 15 ml, is a ready-made combination of a glossy black glass vial and a black-gold dispenser with a transparent cap. It is suitable for small volumes of liquid and semi-liquid preparations applied drop by drop or in small doses: facial serums, oil serums for the face and décolletage area, lip and eye area serums, light emulsions, hair and nail oils, or concentrates of active substances for samples and formula testing.

Opaque black glass protects the contents from light, which is appreciated with oils sensitive to oxidation, vitamins, and plant extracts. The dispenser delivers the same small amount with each press, so the product does not need to be poured or scooped with a finger, and the contents remain cleaner than with an open neck. The transparent cap protects the head from dust and accidental pressing in a bag or on a shelf.

What the set is suitable for

  • Facial and eye serums – water-based and oil-based serums applied in small amounts. The dispenser allows precise dosing without spilling.
  • Oil blends – oils for the face, nail cuticles, beard, or hair ends. Dark glass slows the oxidation of sensitive oils.
  • Light emulsions and fluids – thin milks and fluids that the dispenser tube draws up without difficulty.
  • Samples and test batches – the small volume is ideal for testing a formula or for a travel-size pack of a favourite serum.

The set is not suitable for thick creams, butters, or gels with high viscosity. The tube cannot draw them up and the dispenser jams. For such textures, jars or bottles with a wider neck are more suitable.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of the bottle is the volume the container is intended for at normal filling. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is higher. The difference provides a reserve for the tube and the body of the dispenser, which take up part of the space when screwed on, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. Both figures are listed in the specifications.

Fill the bottle up to the nominal volume at most. When filled to the brim, the dispenser pushes part of the contents onto the thread and neck when screwed on, the container then does not seal properly and the label becomes soiled.

How the dispenser works

The dispenser works with a tube that reaches to the bottom of the bottle, and when pressed delivers a small, repeatable dose. The exact volume of one dose is listed in the specifications. The first few presses after filling draw the product up into the tube; only then does it begin to dispense.

When filling, make sure the tube reaches the bottom after screwing on. If it is longer than the height of the bottle, it can be shortened with a sharp knife. A tube that bends or kinks at the bottom draws up less effectively and leaves an unused residue at the bottom.

Cut the tube at an angle so that it ends just above the bottom. The angled cut prevents it from suctioning against the glass. After the first fill, press the dispenser several times over a sink until it begins to deliver the product.

The dispenser is not airless. With each press, a small amount of air enters the bottle to replace the dispensed volume. With oils and serums containing substances sensitive to oxidation, an antioxidant in the formulation helps. Water-based preparations require effective preservation, just as with any container that allows air access.

Materials and content suitability

The bottle is made of glass, which is chemically resistant and does not react with oils, essential oils, or alcohol. The dispenser body is made of polypropylene with an aluminium element and a transparent plastic cap. With standard serums, oils, and emulsions, the dispenser plastic is stable. With a high proportion of essential oils, undiluted ethanol, or other solvents, we recommend verifying the dispenser's behaviour with the specific formula. These substances may, over time, affect the plastic parts and sealing.

The set as a whole is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The glass bottle on its own has a certificate for direct contact with food; the dispenser does not. The set is therefore intended for cosmetic use, not for food.

What to know before filling

  • Container preparation – before first use, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow it to dry completely. Rinse the dispenser and remove moisture by pressing it empty.
  • Filling temperature – glass tolerates warmer filling, but not sudden temperature changes. Let a hot mixture cool to at least lukewarm and fit the plastic dispenser only onto cooled contents.
  • Reuse – the glass bottle can be washed and used again. The dispenser is harder to clean: pump warm water through it, then alcohol, and allow it to dry. When changing the formula, it is safer to replace it with a new one.
  • Labelling – glossy black glass has a smooth surface that labels adhere to well.
  • Residue at the bottom – the tube never draws up everything completely. Bear this in mind with expensive active substances and empty the bottle before discarding by unscrewing the dispenser.
  • Recycling – the glass bottle goes in glass recycling. The dispenser is a combination of plastic and aluminium and is disposed of separately from the glass.

The dispenser is supplied as a matched set with the bottle. Additional closures with the same neck type, listed in the specifications, and other ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range. With a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dosing, and container behaviour with the specific formula.

Frequently asked questions

Does the black glass bottle with dispenser protect the contents from light?
Yes, the opaque black glass does not allow light through, so the contents are protected from its effects similarly to brown glass. It is therefore suitable for oils and serums with vitamins, plant extracts, or unsaturated fatty acids that oxidise more quickly in light. Protection from light, however, does not replace an antioxidant or preservation, as the contents come into contact with air during dispensing.
How much product is filled into the 15 ml glass bottle with dispenser?
It is filled to the nominal volume, i.e. 15 ml, not to the brim. The total volume of the bottle is higher, and the difference is a reserve for the tube and the dispenser body and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. If the bottle is filled to the brim, the dispenser pushes part of the contents out when screwed on and the container does not seal properly.
Is the glass bottle with dispenser suitable for an oil serum?
Yes, oil serum is one of the most suitable uses for this set. Glass does not react with oils and the dispenser delivers the small amount typically applied to the face or décolletage area. Very thick oils and butters do not dispense as well. For these, we recommend thinning them with a lighter oil or choosing a different type of closure.
Can a toner or alcohol-based preparation be filled into the glass bottle with dispenser?
Yes, water-based preparations and preparations with a proportion of ethanol can be dispensed and the glass resists them without restriction. With a high proportion of alcohol or essential oils, we recommend verifying how the plastic dispenser body and seal behave with prolonged contact. Water-based preparations must be effectively preserved, as air enters the bottle with each press.
Is the glass bottle with dispenser set also suitable for food?
No, the set as a whole is not approved for contact with food. Only the glass bottle on its own has a certificate for direct contact with food; the plastic dispenser does not. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics and is intended for cosmetic use.
How is the dispenser cleaned when reusing the glass bottle?
The dispenser is cleaned by pumping warm water and then alcohol through the tube, after which it is allowed to dry completely. The internal mechanism cannot be disassembled, so residues of oils or thickened emulsions are harder to remove than from glass. The glass bottle simply needs to be washed, disinfected, and dried. When changing the formula, it is more reliable to use a new dispenser.
