Product description

This clear plastic medicine bottle with a glossy black and gold pump holds 10 ml and is a ready-made set for small quantities of liquid cosmetics. The bottle is made of lightweight PET, and the pump combines a PP body with a glossy aluminium shell and a clear overcap. One press dispenses approximately 0.3 ml, which suits serums, light emulsions, facial oils and samples that are applied in just a few drops. The contents are visible through the clear wall, so you can monitor both the colour of the product and the remaining amount.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

What it is suitable for

  • Facial and eye serums – the small dose and closed system suit products with a higher proportion of active ingredients, which are applied in just a few presses.
  • Light emulsions and fluids – the pump handles liquid to medium-thick textures that flow freely through the tube.
  • Facial and nail oils – the contents are dispensed without contact with your fingers, which limits contamination and waste.
  • Samples and travel packs – 10 ml corresponds to a trial amount of serum or cream for several days.
  • Custom and gift sets – the glossy black and gold finish looks uniform across several pieces on a counter or in a package.

How to use the set

Before the first filling, we recommend that you wash and disinfect both the bottle and the pump with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Any remaining moisture would otherwise get into the product, which is a problem especially with oils and other anhydrous formulations.

Fill the bottle up to the nominal volume, that is, up to the level the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The total volume up to the rim of the neck is slightly larger. This difference provides a reserve for the tube and the pump mechanism and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. If you fill the bottle right up to the neck, the product will overflow when you screw on the pump.

After screwing on the pump, you need to prime the system by pressing it several times until the tube and chamber fill with the product. Only then does it dispense evenly.

Thicker creams, masks and products with particles (scrubs, wax granules) do not belong in the pump. The tube and valve will clog and dispensing will stop working. For emulsions and serums containing a thickener, we recommend testing the dispensing on a single piece first.

Good to know

Clear PET does not protect the contents from light. Products with sensitive ingredients, for example vitamin C, retinoids or easily oxidising vegetable oils, belong in amber or blue glass, or at least in a box away from direct light. This set suits formulations that tolerate brief exposure to light, as well as products intended to be used up quickly.

For formulations with a higher proportion of essential oils, alcohol or solvents, we recommend checking compatibility with the plastic on a sample. Watch for softening of the wall, cloudiness or a change in fragrance after several weeks.

The set is intended for cosmetics. Only the bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact; the pump does not carry this declaration. The complete set is therefore not to be used for food, cooking oils or syrups.

Reuse is possible if the bottle and the pump are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. Rinse the pump by placing the tube in warm water with a little washing-up liquid and pressing several times, then repeat in clean water and finally let it dry. Residues of cream in the valve would otherwise contaminate the new contents.

The pump combines plastic and aluminium, so we recommend separating it from the PET bottle before disposal and following your local collection system.

Frequently asked questions

How much product does the pump on a 10 ml medicine bottle dispense per press?
One full press dispenses approximately 0.3 ml. With 10 ml of contents, this corresponds to roughly 30 doses; the actual number depends on the viscosity of the product and on how much remains in the tube and at the bottom. For serums, one to two doses are usually enough for the face, which makes it easier for the customer to keep to the recommended amount.
Can a plastic medicine bottle with a pump be filled with cream?
Yes, if the cream is liquid to medium-thick and free of solid particles. The pump is designed for serums, fluids and light emulsions that flow freely through the tube. Thick creams, butters or scrubs will jam in the valve. If the viscosity is borderline, we recommend testing the dispensing on a single piece before filling a larger batch.
Does a clear plastic medicine bottle protect the contents from light?
No, clear PET lets light through and does not protect the contents. It suits formulations that are not harmed by light during normal use, or products sold in a box. For serums with vitamin C, retinoids or easily oxidising oils, we recommend filling amber or blue glass instead.
Is the medicine bottle and pump set suitable for food or cooking oils?
No, the set as a whole is not approved for food contact. Only the PET bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact; the pump does not carry this declaration. The complete set is therefore intended for cosmetic products, for example serums, facial oils and light emulsions.
How many millilitres can you actually fill into a 10 ml medicine bottle with a pump?
Fill it up to the nominal volume of 10 ml, not up to the rim of the neck. The physical volume up to the neck is larger, but the extra space is taken up by the tube and the pump mechanism and also serves as a reserve for the expansion of the contents. An overfilled bottle will overflow when you screw on the pump, and part of the product will be wasted.
Is a PET medicine bottle suitable for products with essential oils?
At usual usage rates of essential oils in a finished product, yes; for concentrated blends or pure essential oils, we recommend checking compatibility. After longer contact with a high proportion of essential oils, alcohol or solvents, PET and PP can soften, turn cloudy or take on the fragrance. A sample kept in the packaging for several weeks will show whether the material changes.
