Product description

A brown glass bottle with a volume of 100 ml and a pump dispenser forms a complete kit for products dispensed in small amounts: facial serums, oils, light emulsions, and makeup removers. Amber glass limits light exposure to the contents, which is particularly valued for formulations with vegetable oils, extracts, and sensitive active ingredients.

The dispenser in a white-silver glossy finish delivers a small, repeatable dose with each press. The contents are never touched by fingers during use.

Suitable applications

  • Facial and hair serums – a single press dispenses exactly the right amount without any spillage.
  • Facial, body, massage, and cleansing oils – the dispenser delivers them cleanly, without dripping down the neck.
  • Light emulsions and liquid cleansers – liquid milks and thin creams flow through the dispenser smoothly.

The dispenser is not suitable for thick creams, butters, high-viscosity gels, or products with solid particles (scrubs, clay suspensions). It will not draw up such materials or will become clogged.

How the dispenser works

The dispenser draws up the contents through a dip tube reaching to the bottom of the bottle and delivers approximately 0.14 ml with each press. This is a dose suited for concentrated products applied in small amounts. On first use, press it several times without product until the tube and mechanism are primed.

The closure seals the neck with a thread, but the dispenser is not an airless system. Air enters the bottle to replace the dispensed product. Formulations with a water phase therefore require standard preservation, and oils prone to oxidation require an antioxidant.

If you are unsure about the viscosity of your product, test the dispenser with a small sample first. A product that flows freely from a spoon at room temperature will generally work. A substance that holds its shape on a spoon will not.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is designed to hold under normal filling. Total brim volume is the physical capacity of the glass up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference serves as a reserve for the dispenser body with dip tube, which displaces some of the contents when screwed in, and for product expansion due to temperature changes.

Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. A bottle filled to the brim would overflow when closed, contaminating the thread and the label. Exact values are listed in the specifications.

What to know before filling

Packaging preparation. Wash, rinse, and disinfect the bottle with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol before first filling. Then allow it to dry completely. Disinfect the dispenser by pumping through a small amount of ethanol and letting it dry. Any water remaining in the mechanism would enter the product.

Glass and heat. Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes. Allow hot-processed products to cool before filling, and do not fill a cold bottle with hot material.

The plastic parts of the dispenser may react to high concentrations of essential oils, fragrance compositions, or solvents. For such products, we recommend testing the dispenser's behaviour with the specific formulation on a sample over several weeks.

Intended use. Both the bottle and dispenser are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The glass bottle alone holds a food-contact certificate. The kit as a whole is intended for cosmetics.

Labelling and recycling. The cylindrical wall of the bottle provides a smooth surface for a label; dimensions are listed in the specifications. The empty bottle goes into glass recycling. The dispenser is made of plastic and metal and must be disposed of separately.

Alternative closure. Closures with the same neck type (listed in the specifications) and other ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing, and packaging behaviour with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Does the amber glass bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, amber glass limits light penetration and thereby slows light-induced changes. This is most noticeable with vegetable oils, extracts, and serums containing sensitive active ingredients. It does not, however, replace an antioxidant or preservative. The product should still be stored away from direct sunlight and sources of heat.
How viscous a product can the dispenser on the 100 ml bottle handle?
The dispenser is designed for liquid to slightly viscous products, such as oils, serums, liquid milks, and thin emulsions. It will not draw up thick creams, butters, or firm gels. Particles from scrubs or clays may clog it. We recommend testing the behaviour of your specific formulation on a sample, as viscosity also changes with temperature.
How much product does the dispenser deliver per press?
The dispenser delivers approximately 0.14 ml per press. The kit is therefore best suited for serums and oils applied in small quantities. Larger amounts can be measured by counting presses. The actual dose depends on the viscosity of the contents and whether the dispenser is pressed all the way down.
Is the bottle with dispenser suitable for food?
The kit as a whole is not approved for food contact and is intended for cosmetic products. Only the glass bottle alone holds a food-contact certificate; the dispenser does not. For home-use oils, syrups, or infusions, choose a bottle with a closure that also carries such a certificate.
Can the amber bottle with dispenser be reused?
The glass bottle can be reused if it is thoroughly washed, disinfected, and dried before refilling. The dispenser is harder to clean, as traces of the previous product are difficult to remove from the mechanism. Pump through warm water with a cleaning agent, then clean water, and finally ethanol. If the product type or scent changes, using a new dispenser is more reliable.
