Ambre Glass Bottle, Slim, Glossy Silver White Pump, 50 ml

An amber glass medicine bottle with a pump, 50 ml, suits serums, oils and light emulsions that are applied in small doses. Amber glass filters light, so contents sensitive to sunlight, such as serums with active ingredients or vegetable oils, keep better in it than in a clear bottle. The glossy white and silver pump delivers a small, repeatable dose with each press, and the contents stay sealed with no need to dip your fingers in.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. Only the glass medicine bottle has a certificate for direct food contact on its own; the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic products.

What it is suited for

• Serums and liquid active preparations – 50 ml is a common pack size for a facial serum, and the pump makes precise application easier without spilling.
• Facial and hair oils – dark glass slows the effect of light on oils prone to oxidation, and the small dose prevents waste.
• Light emulsions and milks – thinner textures pass through the pump without problems; with thicker creams, we recommend checking that the pump can dispense them.
• Samples and test batches – the smaller volume is suitable for trying out a formulation before filling larger packaging.

Volume and filling

The nominal volume is the volume the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The total brimful volume given in the parameters is the physical volume of the medicine bottle up to the neck. The difference between them forms a reserve for the pump tube and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. For this reason, fill up to the nominal volume, not to the brim; otherwise, once the pump is screwed on, part of the contents is pushed out or leaks into the thread.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the medicine bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. It is enough to rinse the pump with clean water or ethanol and let it dry. Do not put it in hot water or in an oven, as the tube and the internal plastic parts could become deformed.

Glass tolerates heat well, but the contents should be filled only once they have cooled. A hot emulsion or oil poured into a cold medicine bottle puts thermal stress on the glass.

For contents with a higher proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking how the plastic parts of the pump behave in your particular formulation. It is also advisable to test whether thick or gel products are drawn up the tube smoothly. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness and dispensing with your particular contents.

After washing, the medicine bottle can be reused. When changing the type of contents, for example from an oil to a water-based serum, the pump tube must be washed thoroughly, otherwise the residues will mix. Before recycling, unscrew the pump from the medicine bottle; the glass belongs in glass waste, while the pump contains plastic and metal parts and is sorted separately.
