Product description

TEGO Care 450 MB is a versatile, non-ionic, vegetable-based emulsifier for O/W (oil-in-water) creams and emulsions. It is characterized by high stability, excellent compatibility with active ingredients and gentle action on the skin. TEGO Care 450 MB is a renewable resource-based emulsifier suitable for PEG-free formulations and stable O/V emulsions in the pH range 4.5 - 8.5.
In creams, it provides excellent application properties, light texture and long-lasting moisturizing effect. It is compatible with a wide range of electrolytes, plant extracts, proteins and UV filters.

The product guarantees the stability of emulsions at temperatures ranging from -25 °C to +50 °C and allows the formation of formulations with high heat and freeze resistance.

Use in formulation

Recommended dosage: 2-3 % of the total weight of the emulsion.

- For light body lotions: 2 - 3 % TEGO Care 450 MB + 15 - 25 % oil phase.
- For nourishing creams: 3 % TEGO Care 450 MB + 20-40 % oil phase.

The product is compatible with all common cosmetic oils, including polar oils. The viscosity can be adjusted by the addition of 0.1 - 0.5 % thickeners (e.g. Carbomer A/B, xanthan gum, carrageenan). For creams, it is recommended to add 2 - 5 % consistency ingredients (e.g. Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate).

TEGO® Care 450 MB is suitable for the hot-hot process - heating the oil and water phases to 65 - 80 °C and homogenizing after the phases have been combined. Add sensitive ingredients and fragrances at 35 - 40 °C.

Compatibility

The product is miscible with most vegetable oils, esters and active ingredients used in cosmetics. Compatible with both anionic and non-ionic systems and with rheology based on carbomers or natural gums.

TEGO® Care 450 MB ensures a soft, stable texture without white effect on spreading.

Safety and storage

Store dry, at 15 - 30 °C, in a tightly closed container. The product is stable when stored correctly. It is dermatologically safe in the recommended concentrations - tested without erythema and scaling in the Duhring test (on 20 volunteers).
