White glass medicine bottle, white ribbed safety cap, 10 ml

The set of a white glass medicine bottle with a plastic dropper insert and a white ribbed safety cap is used for dropwise dispensing of small volumes. White glass is opaque, so the contents cannot be seen from outside and are not exposed to direct daylight. The dropper insert, fitted into the neck, releases the liquid one drop at a time rather than all at once.

The 10 ml volume suits products that are used by the drop or in small amounts: essential oils and their blends, aromatherapy and massage concentrates, facial oils and oil serums, perfume oils, oil blends for nails and cuticles, as well as samples of larger products. The cap with an 18/410 neck finish can be tightened firmly, and the ribbed surface helps when unscrewing it, even with oily fingers.

How the set works

• Bottle – a medicine bottle made of white opaque glass; the contents cannot be seen from outside.
• Dropper insert – a clear plastic PP insert in the longer version. It is fitted into the neck of the bottle and dispenses the contents drop by drop when the bottle is tilted. The dripping speed depends on the viscosity of the contents: thin essential oils flow faster, thicker vegetable oils more slowly.
• Safety cap – a white plastic PE cap with an 18/410 neck finish. It is screwed onto the neck over the dropper insert and seals the bottle when tightened.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. It is not intended for food.

Nominal volume and brimful volume

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for under normal filling. The brimful volume is the physical volume of the glass up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the fitted dropper insert and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Therefore, fill the bottle up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If you fill the medicine bottle up to the neck, the dropper insert pushes part of the contents out as it is inserted and the outside of the bottle becomes greasy.

Preparation and reuse

Before the first filling, we recommend washing the bottle and the plastic parts, disinfecting them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and letting them dry completely. Residual water in an oil-based or alcohol-based product is undesirable.

The glass medicine bottle can be reused after washing. When reusing it, check that the dropper insert still sits firmly in the neck and drips evenly.

Good to know

• Essential oils – we recommend testing how the plastic dropper insert behaves with your specific blend on a single piece before filling a larger batch.
• Thicker contents – with viscous oil serums, the long dropper insert drips slowly. Hold the bottle tilted for longer when dispensing.
• Aqueous solutions – the dropper insert dispenses them without problems, but the contents must be preserved just as in any other packaging. Opaque glass is not a substitute for a preservative.

• Recycling – after washing, put the glass bottle in the glass recycling; the dropper insert and cap belong in plastics.
