Product description
Matte amber glass medicine bottle, white and silver fine mist sprayer, 30 ml
A ready-made set for toners, facial mists and perfume waters in a small size: a 30 ml amber matte glass bottle and a plastic sprayer that fits it directly. The dark glass protects the contents from light, so the set suits formulations with hydrosols, essential oils, vitamins or fragrance compositions that lose their scent or colour in light. The 30 ml volume corresponds to a travel size, a sample for a customer, or a first trial batch while the formulation is still being fine-tuned.
The sprayer has a white head and a glossy silver collar, so the set looks neat even without additional decoration. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. It is not intended for food.
What it is suitable for
- Facial toners and mists – water-based and hydrosol formulations that are applied to the face as a fine spray, without your hands touching the contents.
- Perfume waters and alcohol-based solutions – the sprayer dispenses a small amount, which is an advantage with concentrated fragrances and alcohol tinctures applied to the skin. The dark glass also protects the fragrance components.
- Hair and body sprays in a small size – light conditioning sprays, refreshing body sprays, hydrosol sprays to carry in a handbag.
- Samples and travel sizes – 30 ml can be taken in hand luggage and is still enough for several weeks of regular use.
How to work with the set
The sprayer is designed for thin, water-based and alcohol-based contents. One press releases approximately 0.14 ml, a dose suitable for the face or a smaller area of skin without the product running off. The mechanism will not atomise thicker emulsions, gels and pure vegetable oils into an even mist. For oil blends, we recommend checking before filling a larger quantity that the sprayer does not produce a jet instead of a mist.
Before first use, press the head several times without product so that the tube fills and the pump starts dispensing. The tube should touch the bottom of the bottle. If it is too long, shorten it with a diagonal cut so that it ends just above the bottom. A diagonal end draws up the contents even when the tube rests on the glass.
The sprayer is sensitive to solid particles. Undissolved salts, powdered extracts or herb residues from an infusion will clog the mechanism, so filter the contents before filling and check the solubility of all ingredients in advance.
Volume and filling
The nominal volume of 30 ml is the quantity the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume, stated in the parameters, is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them forms a reserve for the tube and the sprayer closure and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled up to the nominal volume. If the bottle is filled to the brim, the contents are pushed out when the sprayer is screwed on.
For serial production, mark the 30 ml level on one bottle and check filling against it, or weigh the contents. The level is harder to see through matte glass than through clear glass.
Good to know
Matte amber glass hides the contents. For a product that is meant to be visible to the customer, a clear bottle is more suitable. For formulations that naturally change shade, on the other hand, hiding the colour is an advantage.
Before first filling, the bottle is washed, disinfected with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and left to dry completely with the neck facing down. It is enough to rinse the sprayer with ethanol and pump it several times until it is dry. The glass withstands repeated washing and disinfection. The sprayer can be reused after thorough rinsing, provided the previous contents have not left deposits or a scent that you want to exclude from the new product. Residues remain mainly in the tube and in the pump, so when changing the fragrance or switching from an alcohol-based to a water-based product, we recommend a new sprayer instead.
The sprayer is made of polypropylene with an aluminium collar. For formulations with a high proportion of essential oils, solvents or concentrated fragrance compositions, we recommend letting a filled sample stand for several weeks and monitoring the tightness, the function of the pump and the appearance of the plastic. Glass is resistant to cosmetic ingredients; it only needs to be protected from impact and sudden temperature changes.
Closures with the same neck finish and ready-made combinations of the bottle with other closures can be found in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness, dispensing and behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.
At the end of its life, the bottle belongs in glass recycling. The sprayer is unscrewed and disposed of separately as plastic with a metal part.
