Product description

Amber plastic medicine bottle, black and gold fine mist sprayer, 30 ml

A ready-made combination of an amber PET medicine bottle with a volume of 30 ml and a glossy black and gold fine mist sprayer. The amber plastic filters light, and the sprayer dispenses the contents as a fine mist without fingers touching the product. The PET bottle is light and does not break when dropped, which you will appreciate for travel packs, samples and products that customers carry in a handbag.

The 30 ml volume suits facial mists and toners, hydrosols, hair sprays and refreshing body waters in particular. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. Only the bottle has a separate certificate for direct food contact; the sprayer does not, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic products.

How the set works

  • Sprayer – a mechanical pump with a tube reaching the bottom of the bottle. Each press releases a small, always identical dose in the form of a fine mist. The contents do not pour out and consumption stays under control.
  • Amber medicine bottle – the colour of the plastic reduces the effect of light on the contents. It suits hydrosols, infusions and mists with more sensitive active ingredients, which change their fragrance or colour faster in a clear bottle.
  • Glossy black and gold look – the closure gives the small pack a complete look without further accessories, for your own brand as well as gift sets.
  • PET material – low weight, resistance to breakage and safe transport in a parcel or in luggage.

What to fill the set with

The sprayer is intended for watery and thin liquids: hydrosols, toners, mists with glycerine or hyaluronic acid in a low concentration, and water-based hair sprays. Thicker formulations, gels and pure vegetable oils do not spray as well through the nozzle. The mist is coarser or the pump does not draw the liquid up at all, so for such contents we recommend choosing a different type of closure.

For fillings with a higher proportion of essential oils, alcohol or other solvents, check the behaviour of the plastic directly with your specific recipe. The PET bottle and the PP sprayer are declared for common cosmetic formulations, but the packaging should not be exposed to aggressive chemicals. Leave the filled bottle to stand for several weeks and watch whether the shape, the fragrance of the contents or the quality of the mist changes.

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the sprayer, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. Rinse the tube and the nozzle by spraying pure alcohol through the pump several times and then water. Proceed in the same way whenever you change the filling, as residues of the old contents in the tube would spoil the new formulation.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 30 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference forms a reserve for the tube and the body of the sprayer, which take up part of the space once screwed on, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Therefore, always fill up to the nominal volume, never to the brim, otherwise the liquid will overflow when you close the bottle.

Do not overheat the plastic neck. Let the water phase cool before filling and tighten the sprayer by hand, without excessive force. A stripped thread no longer seals and the bottle leaks when carried.

Good to know

The set can be used repeatedly. When changing the filling there is no need to take the sprayer apart; simply rinse it following the procedure above and leave it to dry. The bottle is made of PET, a commonly recycled plastic. The sprayer consists of several materials including aluminium, so unscrew it before recycling and dispose of it separately.

You will find closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness, the dispensing and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation beforehand.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 30 ml amber plastic medicine bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, amber PET reduces the passage of light and slows the changes that light causes in hydrosols, infusions and mists with sensitive active ingredients. It does not guarantee complete darkness, however, so store filled bottles out of direct sunlight. For contents that are highly sensitive to light, a shorter time between filling and use will also help.
Can you dispense oil or a thicker serum with the sprayer on the plastic medicine bottle?
No, the sprayer is intended for watery and thin liquids such as toners, hydrosols and hair sprays. Pure oils and thicker serums do not pass through the nozzle as a fine mist; the mist is coarse or the pump does not draw the liquid up. For oil-based contents, a bottle with a dropper or a pump is more suitable.
How many ml can you actually fill into the bottle with a sprayer?
Fill up to the nominal volume of 30 ml, not to the brim. Once screwed on, the tube and the body of the sprayer take up part of the space in the neck, and the contents expand slightly when warm. If you fill the bottle up to the neck, the liquid overflows when you close it and the thread gets dirty.
Is the set of an amber medicine bottle with a sprayer also suitable for food?
No, the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics. Only the amber PET bottle has a separate certificate for direct food contact; the sprayer does not. If you need packaging for edible oils or syrups, choose a bottle with a closure that is also declared suitable for food.
Can I fill alcohol-based eau de parfum into the amber PET medicine bottle with a sprayer?
The set is declared for cosmetic products, but for fillings with a higher content of alcohol and essential oils, check compatibility beforehand. Fill a test bottle and for several weeks watch the shape of the packaging, the fragrance of the contents and the performance of the sprayer. If there is a significant change, a glass bottle is the safer choice.
