Amber Plastic Bottle, White Spray, 30 ml

The amber plastic medicine bottle with a white fine mist sprayer, 30 ml, is a ready-made set for liquid preparations that are applied to the skin or hair by spraying. The tinted plastic reduces light exposure, so it also suits contents that are sensitive to daylight, such as hydrosols, toners with active ingredients or alcohol extracts. The PET bottle is light and, unlike glass, does not break, so it is easy to carry in a handbag or on trips. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. The sprayer has the same neck finish as the bottle and is matched to it, so there is nothing else to buy or try out.

What the set is suitable for

The 30 ml volume suits products that are used up quickly or made in small batches. In cosmetics, these mainly include:

• Facial toners and hydrosols – spraying distributes the contents evenly over the face without contact with the fingers, which reduces the risk of introducing impurities into the product.
• Hair and body sprays – water-based or water-alcohol mixtures, refreshing sprays and thin hair glosses.
• Samples and travel packs – the small volume is handy for trying a new formulation with customers or for a few days away.
• Disinfectant sprays for hands and surfaces – for contents with a higher alcohol share, first check how the plastic behaves; see more in the Good to know section.

The sprayer is designed for liquid, free-flowing contents. Thick serums, gels or emulsions with a higher viscosity do not pass evenly through the nozzle and may clog it. A dropper or a pump is a better fit for these.

How to use the packaging

The sprayer works mechanically, without a propellant. Each press releases approximately 0.13 ml of contents, which allows you to dispense in small amounts and estimate consumption. The dip tube is longer than the bottle, so it reaches the bottom and almost all of the contents can be used. Before first use, press the sprayer several times until the dip tube and nozzle are filled.

When filling, follow the nominal volume, not the edge of the neck. The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for under normal filling. The brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference provides room for the dip tube and sprayer body and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. A bottle filled to the brim will overflow when the sprayer is screwed on.

Good to know

Before first filling, wash the bottle and the sprayer, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Residual water would dilute the contents and, in products without preservation, increase the risk of microbial contamination.

PET is commonly used for cosmetic and food packaging, but it is not suitable for all types of contents. For preparations with a high alcohol share, undiluted essential oils or solvents, check how the packaging behaves on a small amount. After a few days, check for any change in the shape of the bottle, clouding of the plastic, tightness and the function of the nozzle. The packaging should not be exposed to aggressive chemicals.

The amber medicine bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact. The sprayer does not have such a certificate, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic products, not for food.

After thorough washing, the packaging can be reused. The bottle is made of PET and the sprayer of polypropylene; both are plastics.
