Product description

The white plastic pharmaceutical bottle with a black and gold fine mist sprayer is a ready-made pairing of packaging and closure for small volumes of liquid cosmetics applied by spraying. The bottle with a nominal volume of 10 ml and the sprayer with an 18/415 neck finish fit together without trial and error: just fill, screw on and, if necessary, shorten the dip tube. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

The bottle has a narrow neck and the slim shape of a pharmaceutical bottle. The white colour hides the contents, so the liquid level and colour are not visible and less light reaches the contents. PET is lightweight and unbreakable, which matters more for packaging that travels in a handbag or travel bag than for large bottles. The sprayer head combines black plastic with a gold detail and a clear overcap, so the packaging looks finished even without further decoration.

Suitable uses

  • Perfume and eau de parfum samples – 10 ml is a common volume for trying out a fragrance, and the white bottle hides any colour of the fragrance composition.
  • Face and body mists for travel – a toner, hydrolate or light mist in a volume that fits into hand luggage.
  • Hair and refreshing sprays – thin water-based or water-alcohol mixtures that should stay on the hair or skin as a thin layer.
  • Hand cleansing sprays – alcohol solutions where a small pocket-sized pack is an advantage.
  • Trial packs for customers – the same formulation in a sample volume before producing a larger batch.

Filling and dispensing

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is intended to hold during normal filling. Physically, more fits into it up to the neck, but this difference serves as a reserve for the sprayer’s dip tube and for safe screwing on. Fill the bottle up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If it is overfilled, part of the contents is pushed out through the neck when the sprayer is screwed on, and the thread stays wet.

The sprayer delivers approximately 0.14 ml per press. The first two to three presses after filling draw the contents into the dip tube, and only then does the dose settle.

The sprayer’s dip tube is supplied longer than the height of the bottle requires. Before fitting, shorten it with a diagonal cut so that it reaches just above the bottom. The sprayer then draws up even the last millilitres and the dip tube does not bend at the bottom.

Good to know

  • Thin contents only – the sprayer is designed for water-based and alcohol-based liquids. Oils, thicker serums and emulsions will not atomise, will clog the nozzle or will run out in drops. If the viscosity is borderline, we recommend testing with the finished formulation.
  • Alcohol and essential oils – alcohol solutions common in perfumes and sprays are normal use for this set. The bottle should not be exposed to aggressive chemicals; for undiluted essential oils and solvents, check compatibility on a single piece before filling the whole batch.
  • Preparation before the first filling – rinse the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Flush the sprayer by spraying pure alcohol through it several times, followed by air.
  • Reuse – once the contents are used up, it is enough to rinse the packaging, pump pure water or alcohol through the sprayer and let it dry. When changing to a different fragrance, bear in mind that the dip tube and nozzle may retain part of the previous fragrance.
  • Replacement closures – closures with the same neck type, which is stated in the parameters, fit the bottle. You will find ready-made combinations and closures sold separately in the Handymade range; for your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness and dispensing with the specific formulation.
  • Recycling – the bottle is made of PET and belongs with plastics, while the sprayer combines plastic and aluminium, so unscrew the two parts from each other before disposal.

Only the bottle on its own has a certificate for direct contact with food. The sprayer does not have one, so the set as a whole is intended exclusively for cosmetics and is not to be used for food purposes.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 10 ml white plastic pharmaceutical bottle with a sprayer suitable for food?
No, the bottle and sprayer set is not approved for contact with food. The white PET bottle on its own has a certificate for direct contact with food; the sprayer has no such assessment. As a whole, the packaging is intended for cosmetic products, for example perfumes, face mists or alcohol-based sprays.
What can be sprayed from a 10 ml bottle with a sprayer?
The sprayer handles water-based and alcohol-based liquids with low viscosity. It is suitable for perfumes, eaux de parfum, hydrolates, facial toners, refreshing mists and alcohol-based cleaning sprays. Oils, thick serums and emulsions will not atomise into a mist and will clog the nozzle; packaging with a dropper or pump is more suitable for them.
How many doses does the sprayer on the 10 ml bottle deliver?
Approximately seventy presses. One dose is about 0.14 ml, so filling to the nominal volume of 10 ml gives a little over seventy doses. The actual number depends on the viscosity of the contents and on whether the dip tube reaches all the way to the bottom of the bottle.
Can the white PET bottle withstand alcohol and essential oils?
Alcohol solutions in concentrations common for perfumes and sprays are normal use for this bottle. It should not be exposed to aggressive chemicals; for undiluted essential oils and solvents, we recommend checking compatibility with the specific formulation on a single piece before filling a larger quantity.
Can the bottle with a sprayer be refilled?
Yes, both the bottle and the sprayer can be used again after rinsing. Wash the bottle and disinfect it with alcohol, then pump pure water or alcohol through the sprayer, followed by air, so that the dip tube is emptied. A residue of the previous fragrance may linger in the nozzle for longer, so bear this in mind when changing the contents.
