Product description

A 50 ml glass bottle with a white glossy dropper is used for filling and precisely dispensing liquid cosmetic products. It is suited above all to facial serums, facial and hair oils, oil blends with essential oils, tinctures and concentrated active ingredients that are applied drop by drop. With the dropper you always draw up the same amount, the contents do not spill over the neck and the bottle stays clean.

The frosted glass softens the light that penetrates the packaging and at the same time hints at the level of the contents, so you can see how much of the product remains. The white cap of the dropper looks neutral against the frosted glass.

What it is suitable for

  • Facial serums – water-based and oil-based serums that are dispensed in a few drops per use.
  • Facial and hair oils – vegetable oils and their blends, where the dropper helps you apply a small amount without waste.
  • Tinctures and alcohol extracts – the glass is resistant to alcohol and the dropper allows precise dispensing.
  • Concentrates of active ingredients – smaller volumes that are added drop by drop to finished creams or serums.

How the set works

The dropper consists of a white glossy threaded cap, a glass tube and a silicone bulb. When you squeeze the bulb with the bottle closed, air is pushed out; when you release it, the tube fills with the contents and the product is then dispensed drop by drop. The length of the tube matches the height of the bottle, so the dropper reaches almost to the bottom and the contents can be used up without tilting.

The bottle is filled up to the nominal volume, that is, the volume it is designed for in normal filling. The brimful volume given in the parameters is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between the two is a reserve for the submerged tube of the dropper and for the slight expansion of the contents when the temperature changes.

Leave a reserve in the neck at least equal to the volume of the dropper tube. If the bottle were filled to the brim, part of the contents would overflow over the thread when the dropper is screwed in.

Good to know

Before the first filling, the bottle and the dropper are washed, disinfected with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and left to dry completely. The glass withstands repeated washing and hot water. However, the contents are poured into the bottle only after they have cooled to room temperature, so that a sudden change in temperature does not damage the glass. After use, the dropper is rinsed and dried without heating.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. It is not intended for contact with food, so do not use it for home-made oils, syrups or other foodstuffs.

For blends with a high proportion of essential oils or with solvents, we recommend checking how the silicone bulb and the dropper seal behave with your particular formulation after several weeks.

Check the tightness of the dropper when the packaging is turned upside down or warmed, using your own formulation, before you start carrying the product in a handbag or travel bag. A solid cap or a pump is usually more suitable for such use.

The set is supplied as a ready-made combination of a bottle and a dropper that fit each other. You can find other closures with the same neck type given in the parameters, as well as other ready-made combinations, in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness, the dispensing and the behaviour of the packaging with your particular formulation.

When you finish using it, the bottle and the glass tube of the dropper belong in glass recycling, and the plastic cap in plastic recycling.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 50 ml frosted glass bottle with dropper protect the contents from light?
Partly. Frosted glass softens and scatters light, but it does not shield the contents as well as amber or blue glass. It is suited to oils and serums that only need protection from direct sunlight and that are used up during normal use. For products containing very light-sensitive substances, we recommend dark glass or storage in a box.
How much liquid can be poured into the 50 ml glass bottle with dropper?
The bottle is filled up to the nominal volume of 50 ml. The brimful volume is somewhat larger, and its value is given in the product parameters. The difference remains as a reserve for the dropper tube, which pushes part of the contents upwards when it is screwed in, and for the slight expansion of the product when the temperature changes.
Is the 50 ml glass bottle with dropper suitable for both oil-based and water-based serums?
Yes, the glass is resistant to water-based, alcohol-based and oil-based products. The dropper dispenses liquids of low to medium viscosity well. Thick serums with a higher content of gel thickeners are drawn up slowly through the narrow tube and the drops form unevenly. A pump is more suitable for such products.
Can the 50 ml glass bottle with dropper be reused?
Yes, both the bottle and the dropper can be reused. Before each new filling, the packaging is washed in warm water with washing-up liquid, disinfected with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and left to dry completely. If the silicone bulb feels different to the touch after longer use with essential oils, replace the whole dropper.
Why should the 50 ml glass bottle with dropper not be filled to the brim?
A reserve must remain in the neck for the dropper tube, which is submerged in the contents when screwed in and pushes the level upwards. If the bottle were filled up to the neck, part of the product would overflow over the thread and the tightness of the closure would be reduced. Filling up to the nominal volume leaves room for the tube and for the expansion of the contents at higher temperatures.
