introductory paragraphs
The ready-made set of a 50 ml glass bottle and a white-gold glossy pump dispenser is intended for filling liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic preparations. The bottle is made of milky translucent glass, which reduces direct light while still allowing the contents to be partially visible. The pump dispenser screws onto the neck and releases the contents with a single press without opening the bottle.
The set is particularly suitable for serums, facial oils, light emulsions and fluids — preparations used in small doses where hygienic dispensing matters. Glass does not react with common cosmetic ingredients, including essential oils, while the pump minimises contact between the contents and fingers or air. Both the bottle and the pump are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The set as a whole is intended for cosmetic use, not for food.
Why choose this set
- Light-reducing glass – milky translucent glass transmits less light than clear glass, helping to protect oils, vitamins and plant extracts sensitive to oxidation. The contents remain visible, so you can see how much is left.
- Hygienic dispensing – the contents do not come into contact with fingers and do not spill, reducing the risk of contamination of leave-on preparations such as serums and facial oils.
- Precise dosing – one press releases a small, repeatable dose. Ideal for concentrated preparations where only a few drops are needed.
- Chemical resistance of glass – glass does not absorb scent or colour and tolerates formulations with a higher proportion of essential oils or alcohol, where plastic packaging may soften.
- Ready-matched combination – the bottle and pump are matched to the same neck type; no need to search for and verify a separate closure.
Suitable for products such as
- facial serums and concentrates on both water and oil bases,
- facial and hair oils, including blends with essential oils,
- light emulsions and fluids with lower viscosity that the pump can dispense without difficulty,
- liquid foundation bases and tinted fluids,
- nail and cuticle oils or beard oils, where dispensing is done drop by drop.
Thick creams, butters and balms are not suitable for a set with a pump dispenser. The pump is designed for liquid and slightly viscous contents. A thick preparation will either not be drawn up at all or will be dispensed unevenly.
Nominal and total volume
The bottle has a nominal volume of 50 ml. This is the volume the packaging is designed for in normal filling and is the figure stated on the label. The total capacity to the brim, given in the product parameters, is the physical volume right up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the pump tube, which takes up some space once screwed in, and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. Fill only to the nominal volume, not to the brim; otherwise the contents will overflow when the pump is attached.
What to know when filling and using
Before filling for the first time, we recommend washing, rinsing and sanitising the bottle with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing it to dry completely. Residual water in an oil-based preparation can cause cloudiness or promote microbial growth. The pump should be rinsed with clean water or alcohol before use and left to drip dry. For oil-based contents, simply pump the empty dispenser several times to remove any remaining liquid.
The pump tube is supplied longer than the height of the bottle. Before screwing it in for the first time, trim it at an angle so that it ends just above the bottom. The pump will then draw the contents right down to the last few millilitres and the tube will not bend inside the bottle.
After filling, the pump requires several empty presses before the tube and chamber fill with the contents and dispensing begins. This is normal behaviour for any tube pump and is not a fault. If nothing is dispensed after several presses, check that the tube reaches the bottom, that it is not kinked, and that the contents are not too thick for the pump.
Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes. Do not pour hot contents into a cold bottle and do not leave a filled bottle in direct sunlight or in a car. The pump contains plastic and aluminium parts and should not be sterilised by boiling or in an oven.
The set can be used repeatedly, provided both the bottle and the pump are thoroughly cleaned and the pump is flushed with clean alcohol. When switching to a different type of contents — for example from a fragrant oil to an unscented serum — it is better to replace the pump, as the plastic of the tube and valve may retain the original scent. Before recycling, separate the two components.
If you wish to combine the bottle with a different closure, caps with the same neck type and further ready-matched combinations are available in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal and dispensing performance with the specific formulation.
