Product description
Glass bottle, translucent milky, black atomizer, smoke cap, 50 ml
A toner, hydrolat or hair mist needs a gentle, even application, not a stream. A glass bottle with a black atomizer and smoke cap is a ready-made set for products applied as a mist: facial toners, hydrolat sprays, refreshing and hair mists, alcohol and disinfectant sprays or room fragrances. Milky glass subtly reveals the contents while diffusing direct light.
The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The atomizer fits directly onto the bottle thread — no separate cap needed.
Why choose this set
- Fine mist instead of a stream – the atomizer disperses the liquid into tiny droplets that spread evenly over skin, hair or in a room. The product is dispensed economically and does not run.
- Frosted glass – the milky surface diffuses direct light and looks clean and understated. The contents remain partially visible, so you can see how much is left.
- Odour- and taint-free glass – glass does not absorb fragrances or colorants, so the bottle is suitable for scented products and can be reused for a different product after washing.
- Smoke cap – the translucent dark cap protects the nozzle from dust and accidental pressing in a bag or on a shelf, while keeping the black atomizer visible.
- Practical volume – 50 ml is suitable for samples, travel sizes, toners for several weeks of use and for testing a new formula before a larger batch.
Nominal and total volume
Nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is intended under normal filling. Total volume to the rim is the physical volume up to the neck and is always slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the atomizer dip tube, which submerges into the contents when screwed on and raises the level, and also for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Therefore fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the rim. Both values are listed in the product parameters.
Use and filling
The set is intended primarily for low-viscosity liquids: aqueous solutions, hydrolats, toners, alcohol sprays, light hair mists. Gels, thick emulsions or oils with higher viscosity will generally not be dispersed into a mist by the atomizer and the nozzle may clog.
Before filling, test the formula in the set with a few pumps. If the atomizer sprays a stream instead of a mist or is hard to press, the product is too thick for this type of atomizer. Adjust the viscosity or choose a different closure.
The bottle is filled through the neck. A small funnel or syringe helps with a narrow neck to keep the contents off the thread. Wipe the thread dry before screwing on the atomizer — it will seal better. The atomizer dip tube is longer than the bottle and bends at the bottom. Trim it with a diagonal cut so that it ends just above the base. The atomizer will then draw up the last few millilitres.
Before the first and every subsequent filling, wash the bottle with warm water and a mild detergent, rinse and disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. Rinse the atomizer by screwing it onto the bottle filled with clean water and then with alcohol and spraying several times. Allow both parts to dry completely before filling the product.
What is good to know
- Light and content stability – frosted glass diffuses direct light, but it does not provide full UV protection. For formulas with highly light-sensitive ingredients, such as vitamin C or retinol, brown or blue glass is safer.
- Essential oils and plastic – the atomizer body is made of polypropylene, which tolerates typical cosmetic concentrations of essential oils and alcohol. At high essential oil concentrations or when solvents are used, we recommend checking the seal and behaviour of the plastic parts over several weeks.
- Oil-based products – pure oils and oil serums disperse poorly in a mechanical atomizer and can leave a greasy film on the nozzle over time. For such products a bottle with a dropper or pump is more suitable.
- Preservation – with aqueous products in an atomizer, the contents do not come into contact with hands during use, which is an advantage for microbial stability. This does not, however, replace the need for a correctly chosen preservative.
- Reuse – glass can be washed and disinfected repeatedly. When finished, disassemble the atomizer into its accessible parts, rinse with warm water, spray with alcohol and leave to dry.
- Labelling – self-adhesive labels adhere well to the frosted glass surface.
- Recycling – the bottle is sorted as glass; unscrew the atomizer and dispose of it according to the rules for plastics.
Do not expose the glass to sudden temperature changes, such as filling with hot contents into a cold bottle. Allow the product to cool to room temperature before filling.
Further closures with the same thread type as listed in the parameters, and other ready-made combinations, are available in the Handymade range. With a custom combination we recommend verifying the seal and dosing with the specific formula.
