Product description

A glass spray bottle with a 50 ml capacity is a ready-to-fill kit for dispensing thin cosmetic preparations. The frosted transparent glass bottle diffuses direct light while letting the contents show through slightly, so you can see how much product remains. The white-gold glossy sprayer complements the glass and gives the packaging a look that works equally well as a gift or as a retail bottle for a small brand.

The kit is best suited for facial tonics, hydrolats and refreshing mists, hair mists, alcohol-based fragrance waters and other thin preparations applied by spraying. Both the bottle and the sprayer are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

Why choose this kit

  • Glass protects the contents – glass does not react with water-based or alcohol-based preparations, so the scent and active ingredients remain unchanged.
  • Diffused light – the frosted surface scatters light, which helps with preparations containing more sensitive ingredients, such as plant extracts or essential oils. It does not offer full protection like dark glass, but it is sufficient for everyday tonics and mists.
  • Even dispensing – the sprayer breaks a small amount of preparation into fine droplets with each press, so application is thin and without spillage.
  • Ready-matched combination – the bottle and sprayer threads are matched, so there is no need to check neck and closure compatibility.
  • Practical size – 50 ml is a size suitable for travel packaging, customer samples and smaller batches of home production.

What the kit is suitable for

The sprayer works reliably with preparations that have a consistency close to water. It dispenses hydrolats, tonics, leave-in hair mists, refreshing body sprays, fragrance waters and water-alcohol preparations well. It can also handle very thin oils, such as light dry body oils or oil mists. With thicker oils and preparations containing a thickener, however, dispensing deteriorates or the nozzle becomes blocked. The kit is not intended for cream or gel textures.

Before filling a larger batch, fill one unit and test how the preparation comes out of the sprayer. If a stream forms instead of a mist, the preparation is too thick and the formula needs to be adjusted, or a pump dispenser should be used instead.

Nominal and total volume

The bottle has a nominal volume of 50 ml. This is the volume for which the container is designed under normal filling conditions. The total brim-full volume is slightly larger, as more liquid fits up to the neck. This difference is not a defect, but a reserve for the sprayer tube, which reaches to the bottom and takes up some of the space, and for expansion of the contents when temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If overfilled, the contents will be pushed out through the neck when the sprayer is screwed on.

What is good to know

Preparation before first filling. New containers are recommended to be washed with warm water, optionally disinfected with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and left to dry completely. For the sprayer, a rinse with clean water and a few empty presses to clear the tube is sufficient.

Reuse. The glass bottle can be reused after washing. The sprayer may lose its seal after prolonged use with oily or alcohol-based preparations, so when refilling, check that it dispenses smoothly and does not leak around the thread.

Temperature. Do not fill the glass with a hot preparation. Sudden temperature changes can damage the glass, and warm contents also affect the seal of the plastic sprayer. Allow the preparation to cool to room temperature before filling.

Essential oils and solvents. Glass is resistant to them. The sprayer is made of polypropylene with an aluminium component; with preparations containing a higher proportion of essential oils or solvents, verify that the material does not soften over time and that the seal holds.

Recycling. Once emptied, the glass bottle belongs in glass recycling. The sprayer is a combination of plastic and aluminium, so separate it from the bottle before disposal.

The kit is intended for cosmetic preparations. Neither the bottle nor the sprayer have certification for direct contact with food, so they are not suitable for home-made syrups, cooking oils or herbal infusions.

If you want to combine the bottle with a different closure, closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range. With a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing and the container's behaviour with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Does frosted glass protect the contents from light?
Partially, yes. The frosted surface scatters light and reduces its direct impact on the contents, but does not provide the same protection as brown or blue glass. For tonics, hydrolats and mists with standard stability, the protection is sufficient. Preparations with particularly sensitive ingredients should be stored away from direct sunlight or in dark glass.
Can oil be dispensed through the sprayer?
Yes, but only a very thin oil. The sprayer handles light dry oils and oil mists, but with thicker oils a stream forms instead of a mist and the nozzle may become blocked. We recommend testing on one unit before filling a batch. For standard facial oils, a bottle with a dropper or pump is more suitable.
Is the glass spray bottle suitable for fragrance water?
Yes. Glass is resistant to alcohol and alcohol-based fragrance waters are one of the typical uses for this kit. The sprayer produces a fine mist suitable for application to skin or hair. At high concentrations of fragrance ingredients, verify that the plastic parts of the sprayer do not change properties over time.
How is the kit cleaned before reuse?
Wash the bottle with warm water, optionally disinfect with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and leave to dry completely. Rinse the sprayer with clean water and press it empty several times to clear the tube and nozzle. Before refilling, check that the sprayer dispenses smoothly and seals at the thread.
Is the glass spray bottle suitable as packaging for a small own-brand product?
Yes. The combination of frosted glass and a white-gold sprayer is visually cohesive, and the 50 ml volume corresponds to standard retail sizes for tonics and mists. Both the bottle and the sprayer are declared suitable for contact with cosmetics; the declaration of conformity is available with the product. When selling a finished product, responsibility for its safety and labelling remains with the cosmetics manufacturer.
