Product description
This is a ready-made combination of a 50 ml glass bottle and a glass dropper with a glossy black cap, prepared for filling with facial serums, cosmetic oils, concentrates of active ingredients or tinctures. The set solves two things at once: a chemically neutral container that does not affect the contents, and drop-by-drop dosing, which saves product with concentrated preparations and allows precise application.
Frosted glass diffuses light and reveals the contents only as a silhouette. The user can therefore see how much product remains, while the colour of the preparation appears muted and uniform. The glossy black dropper contrasts with the frosted glass and suits a simple product styling where the label plays the main role.
What products the set is intended for
- Facial serums – water-based and oil-based preparations are dosed drop by drop precisely onto the spot, without the fingers touching the contents of the bottle.
- Facial, hair and beard oils – a few drops are spread between the palms; glass does not absorb grease or fragrance, and the container is not left "soaked" after being emptied.
- Concentrates of active ingredients – mixtures added drop by drop into a cream, mask or shampoo just before use.
- Tinctures and alcohol extracts – glass is resistant to alcohol and the dropper allows the dose to be measured.
- Diluted essential oil blends – at higher concentrations verify the behaviour of the silicone bulb, in more detail below.
The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics.
Neither the bottle nor the dropper is certified for contact with food; the set is intended exclusively for cosmetic preparations. Do not use it for edible oils, syrups or herbal extracts intended for consumption.
Nominal and total volume
The bottle has a nominal volume of 50 ml. This is the amount the container is designed for under normal filling and the amount stated on the label. The total volume to the brim is slightly larger – it is the physical volume up to the neck and you will find it in the parameters. The difference between the two values is a reserve. Once the dropper is screwed on, the glass tube takes up part of the space and the level rises; the contents also expand slightly with changes in temperature. It is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If overfilled, the tube pushes the liquid into the thread and the cap cannot be tightened without overflowing.
During batch filling, check the level on the first few units before screwing on the dropper. Frosted glass shows the level less clearly than clear glass; backlighting the bottle from behind or filling by weight helps.
How the dropper works
The dropper consists of a glass tube, a silicone bulb and a glossy black cap that combines an aluminium shell with a plastic threaded insert. The 18/410 thread fits exactly onto the neck of the bottle from the set. Squeezing the bulb draws the liquid up, and releasing it dispenses it drop by drop or all at once depending on how hard you squeeze the bulb. The tube reaches almost to the bottom, so practically the entire contents are used up.
The glass of the tube is easy to clean, does not absorb fragrances or dyes and tolerates oils as well as alcohol. The silicone bulb is designed for common cosmetic bases. With concentrated essential oils, citrus essences or solvents we recommend verifying in advance whether the bulb softens and whether the seal in the cap holds. Check tightness also with very fluid preparations, which can get into the thread during transport.
What is good to know
- Before the first filling wash the bottle and the dropper, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Residual water can promote the growth of microorganisms in an anhydrous product.
- Protection from light – frosted glass dampens light but does not replace amber or blue glass. Details are in the questions below.
- Hygiene during use – the dropper repeatedly comes into contact with the contents, so with water-based serums preservation is essential. It is advisable to warn the user not to let the tube touch the skin.
- Labelling – the smooth cylinder of the bottle accepts a standard self-adhesive label, and the adhesive holds well on frosted glass. You will find the dimensions for the label in the parameters.
- Reuse – both the glass and the dropper can be reused after washing and disinfection. The silicone bulb loses its elasticity over time; when refilling, check whether it draws up as well as a new one.
- Heat and impacts – glass is fragile. Do not fill with a hot phase, do not expose the container to sudden temperature changes and provide impact protection during transport.
- Recycling – the bottle belongs in glass. The dropper is made of several materials (glass, silicone, plastic, aluminium), so before disposal separate the tube from the cap and the bulb.
