Product description

The clear glass bottle with a capacity of 100 ml and a black dropper makes a ready-to-fill set for oil serums, facial and body oils, tinctures and other liquid preparations that are dispensed drop by drop. The clear glass lets you see the contents, the colour of the oil or extract stays in view, and it is obvious during use how much of the product is left in the bottle. Both the bottle and the dropper are declared suitable for contact with cosmetics, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic products.

What the set consists of

The bottle has the shape of a medicine bottle with a narrow, threaded neck. Clear glass does not absorb the scent or colour of the contents and is easy to wash, so it is also suitable for preparations with a strong scent.

The dropper consists of a black PP cap, a silicone bulb and a glass tube. Squeezing the bulb draws the liquid in, and it is then released one drop at a time. The cap is fitted with a tamper-evident ring. The whole dropper screws onto the neck of the bottle just like an ordinary cap, so swapping between the dropper and another closure requires no modification.

What it is suitable for

  • Oil serums and facial oils – with the dropper you can apply a precise number of drops without the product spilling over your hands or running back into the bottle.
  • Body and massage oils – the dropper helps you measure out the amount for a single massage.
  • Tinctures and alcohol extracts – glass is resistant to alcohol, and its transparency makes it easier to check clarity or sediment.
  • Blends of essential oils in a carrier oil – diluted aromatic blends for the skin are dispensed evenly from the dropper.

The set is not suitable for thick emulsions, creams or gels. The dropper only draws in liquid contents; a thicker preparation stays in the tube and dispensing will be unreliable.

Volume and filling

The nominal volume of 100 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The brimful volume given in the parameters is the physical volume of the glass up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the glass tube of the dropper, which takes up part of the space once screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes.

Fill the bottle up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If you fill it to the neck, the dropper will push the contents out and soil the thread, and the closure may not seal.

Good to know

Clear glass does not protect the contents from light. Store oils rich in unsaturated fatty acids, blends with essential oils and other light-sensitive preparations in the dark or in a box, or choose a bottle made of amber or blue glass.

Do not fill the bottle with hot contents. Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes well, and the oil phase contracts as it cools, so the level would drop below the required amount.

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the dropper, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. Rinse the silicone bulb and the glass tube separately so that no water remains in them.

The glass can be used repeatedly. For the next filling, it is enough to wash and disinfect the bottle again. Before reuse, check that the bulb of the dropper has not lost its elasticity and that the tube is not cracked.

For concentrated essential oils, solvents or preparations with a high alcohol content, we recommend testing the behaviour of the bulb and the tightness of the closure with your specific formulation. Glass tolerates these substances, but the plastic and silicone parts of the dropper may behave differently depending on the composition.

Only the bottle on its own has a certificate for direct contact with food. The dropper does not have this certificate, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.

You will find closures with the same neck type and other ready-made bottle and closure combinations in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend testing the tightness and dispensing with your specific contents.

The bottle is made of glass and belongs in glass recycling once empty. The dropper is made of several materials, so separate it from the bottle before disposal.

Frequently asked questions

Does a clear glass bottle with a dropper protect the contents from light?
No, clear glass lets light through and does not protect the contents from it. The bottle is suitable for preparations that are not harmed by light, or for products stored in the dark or in a box. For oils and serums that are sensitive to light, amber or blue glass, which blocks part of the light, is a safer choice.
How far should I fill a 100 ml glass bottle with a dropper?
Fill the bottle up to the nominal volume of 100 ml, not to the brim. The total volume of the glass is slightly larger and forms a reserve for the glass tube of the dropper and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. If the bottle is overfilled, the dropper pushes the preparation out through the neck when screwed in and soils the thread.
Can a glass bottle with a dropper be reused?
Yes, the bottle and the dropper can be used again after washing and disinfection. Wash the glass, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave it to dry. For the dropper, rinse the tube and the bulb and check that the bulb has not hardened and that the tube is not cracked. Replace a worn dropper, otherwise it dispenses unevenly.
Is a glass bottle with a dropper suitable for water-based, alcohol-based and oil-based contents?
Yes, glass tolerates water, alcohol and oils without any change in its properties. The dropper reliably dispenses only liquid preparations, so the set is suitable for serums, oils, tinctures and toners, not for creams or thick gels. For concentrated essential oils and solvents, test how the silicone bulb behaves.
Is the glass bottle and black dropper set approved for contact with food?
No, the set as a whole is not approved for contact with food. Only the glass bottle on its own has a certificate for direct contact with food; the dropper does not have one. Both the bottle and the dropper are declared suitable for contact with cosmetics, so the set is intended for cosmetic products.
Can I use a closure other than the dropper on the 100 ml glass bottle?
Yes, the bottle has a standard thread and can be closed with any closure of the same neck type. You will find suitable closures and ready-made combinations in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend testing the tightness and dispensing with your specific contents.
