Product description
Glass bottle with pump dispenser 100 ml is a ready-made set for products that are dispensed in small amounts and should not come into unnecessary contact with fingers or air. It consists of a glass vial-shaped bottle with a nominal volume of 100 ml and a plastic pump dispenser with a white head and a glossy silver collar. It is particularly suitable for facial serums, light emulsions, facial and body oils, liquid essences, hydrating fluids and liquid foundations.
The clear glass shows the colour and consistency of the contents, making it suitable for products where you want to show the customer the purity, colour or layering of the ingredients. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. The glass bottle alone has a certificate for direct contact with food; the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.
Why choose a bottle with a pump dispenser
- Hygienic dispensing – the contents are not scooped out with fingers or poured, and minimal outside air enters the bottle. This is an advantage for serums with sensitive active ingredients and for products used over a longer period.
- Small dose per press – the dispenser releases approximately 0.14 ml per press, which corresponds to a typical application of serum or oil to the face. For larger areas, simply press multiple times.
- Dip tube reaches the bottom – the length of the intake tube is matched to the height of the bottle, so almost the entire contents can be used without tilting.
- Glass and a lightweight dispenser – the bottle has a firm, cool feel and stands stably on a shelf; the dispenser is lightweight and operated with one hand.
- Neutral appearance – the combination of clear glass, a white head and a glossy silver collar gives a neutral look that can be completed with a label in any colour.
Nominal and total volume
Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed to hold under normal filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly higher. The difference provides a reserve for the dip tube and the body of the dispenser, which occupy part of the internal space once screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. Filling is therefore done to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Overfilling causes the contents to be pushed out through the neck when the dispenser is attached, contaminating the thread and impairing the seal.
Before batch filling, we recommend filling one bottle as a trial, attaching the dispenser and pressing it several times. This lets you verify that your formulation draws up properly and that the dispenser dispenses smoothly.
What is good to know when filling and using
The consistency of the contents is critical with a pump dispenser. The dispenser is designed for liquid and mildly viscous products such as serums, oils, fluids and light emulsions. Thick creams, butters or high-viscosity gels are difficult or impossible to draw up. It is advisable to test the behaviour with your specific formulation before producing a larger batch.
First use requires several empty presses before the dip tube and the body of the dispenser fill with product. When handing the product to the customer, it is good practice to include this information on the label or in the instructions.
Preparation before first fill: wash the bottle with warm water, disinfect if needed with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave to dry completely. Rinse the dispenser with warm water by pumping it through several times, then leave to dry. Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes, so do not place a hot bottle in cold water.
Reuse: the bottle can be reused after washing without restriction. The dispenser is harder to clean thoroughly because some product remains in the tube and mechanism. When changing the type of product, especially from an oil to a water-based formulation, it is safer to use a new dispenser.
Light: clear glass provides no protection against UV radiation. Formulations with oxidation-sensitive oils, vitamin C or retinoids should be stored out of direct light or a dark glass should be chosen instead.
Labelling: the straight cylindrical surface of the bottle allows applying a wrap-around or front label.
Recycling: the glass bottle goes in the glass recycling. The dispenser combines plastic and aluminium, so it should be separated from the bottle before disposal.
When shipping finished products, pressure inside the parcel may press the pump head and release a dose into the box. We recommend securing the pump head with tape or packing the product in an upright position.
