A plastic bottle with a capacity of 100 ml, made of transparent PET with a black ribbed cap, is a ready-to-use set for liquid cosmetic preparations poured directly from the neck. PET is lightweight and drop-resistant, making it suitable for the bathroom, travel, and shipping finished products. The clear wall shows the colour and clarity of the contents, as well as how much remains.

The tall, slim shape fits comfortably in the hand and leaves plenty of room for a label. The screw cap reseals the bottle securely after each use.

Which products is this set suitable for

The bottle with a solid cap has no dispenser; the contents are poured directly through the neck. It works best with thin to medium-viscosity preparations:

Facial waters, tonics and micellar waters – poured onto a cotton pad directly from the neck.
Shower gels, shampoos and liquid soaps – for travel sizes and samples where low weight and drop resistance matter.
Body and massage oils – the ribbed cap can be opened even with oily hands.
Bath additives and bath foams – poured directly into the water.
Refills – for decanting into containers with a pump or spray dispenser.

Thick gels and creamy textures flow slowly through the neck. A dispensing closure is more practical for those.

How the cap seals

The cap is made of polypropylene and has a foam polyethylene sealing insert inside. When tightened, the insert seats against the rim of the neck and seals it. Before travelling or shipping a parcel, tighten the cap all the way.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is intended for under normal filling conditions. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference serves as a buffer for the closure and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes.

The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The headspace below the neck prevents the contents from being forced out when closing, and allows preparations that are shaken before use to be mixed.

What is good to know before filling

Before filling for the first time, wash both the bottle and cap with lukewarm water and a small amount of washing-up liquid, then rinse thoroughly. Next, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in the container increases the risk of microbial contamination, especially in water-containing formulations.

PET does not tolerate high temperatures. The bottle must not be boiled, sterilised in an oven, or filled with hot contents, as it may deform. Allow the preparation to cool before filling.

Label – the smooth cylindrical wall is suitable for self-adhesive labels. The dimensions required for label design are listed in the specifications. Labels adhere best to a dry, grease-free surface.
Contact with cosmetics – both the bottle and the cap are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products.
Recycling – the PET bottle and the polypropylene cap both belong in sorted plastic waste once empty.

Frequently asked questions

Does the transparent 100 ml plastic bottle protect the contents from light?

No, clear PET transmits light and does not protect the contents from it. For preparations without light-sensitive ingredients, such as shower gels, shampoos or liquid soaps, this is not an issue. Products containing easily oxidising oils or active ingredients sensitive to light should be stored in the dark, for example in a cabinet or a box, or a container made of a coloured material should be chosen instead.

Is the 100 ml plastic bottle with a black cap suitable for food?

No, the 100 ml plastic bottle and black cap set is not approved for contact with food. Both the bottle and the cap are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products, so the set is intended for cosmetic preparations such as facial waters, shower gels or body oils. For syrups, cooking oils or beverages, choose packaging designated for food use.

Is the plastic bottle with cap suitable for oils and alcohol-based preparations?

Yes, PET is suitable for aqueous, oil-based and standard alcoholic cosmetic preparations, such as body oils, facial waters and tonics. The exceptions are undiluted essential oils and concentrated solvents, which can degrade the plastic over time and do not belong in this bottle. For new formulations with a higher proportion of fragrance components, we recommend a test fill and inspection of the packaging after several weeks.

Can the 100 ml plastic bottle be reused?

Yes, both the bottle and the cap can be refilled after thorough washing, sanitising and complete drying. When reusing, check the sealing insert in the cap, as the leak-tightness of the entire set depends on it. A damaged or deformed insert is best discarded along with the cap, and the bottle fitted with a new closure of the same thread type.

Can the black cap on the 100 ml plastic bottle be replaced with a pump or spray dispenser?

Yes, a closure with the same thread type, as stated in the specifications, can be fitted to the bottle. For thicker preparations a pump is more practical; for thin, water-based preparations a spray dispenser. With a custom combination, the seal and whether the closure reliably dispenses the specific formulation should be verified.
