Product description

This amber glass 15 ml medicine bottle comes as a set with a long plastic dropper insert and a black ribbed safety cap, and is used for dispensing liquid preparations drop by drop. The dark glass dampens light, so the set suits contents that lose stability when exposed to light: essential oils, oil serums, aromatherapy blends and tinctures. The ribbed surface of the cap stays easy to grip even with oily fingers.

All three components of the set are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The declaration of conformity is provided with the product.

How the set works

After filling, the dropper insert is pressed into the neck of the medicine bottle and stays there permanently. When you tilt the bottle, the drops come out one after another, which makes precise dispensing of small amounts easier, for example when mixing essential oils into a carrier oil or into a diffuser. The long version of the dropper insert is adapted to the shape of this medicine bottle.

The cap with an 18/410 neck finish screws onto the neck above the dropper insert and seals the contents. If you fill the bottle yourself, we recommend checking how the dropper insert sits in the neck and whether the cap seals properly with your formulation once tightened.

Suitable for products such as

Essential oils and blends – the dropper insert measures an exact number of drops when mixing into a carrier oil or diffuser.
Oil serums for the face and the skin around the eyes – the small volume matches the daily use of a few drops.
Nail and cuticle oils – precise dispensing without spilling.
Tinctures and alcohol extracts – glass is resistant to alcohol, and the small volume suits samples.
Samples and test batches – a volume of 15 ml is enough to try out a recipe before larger production.

Good to know

Nominal volume is the volume the packaging is designed for under normal filling. Brimful capacity is the physical volume up to the rim of the neck, and you can find it in the parameters. The difference between them is a reserve for the dropper insert, which takes up part of the space in the neck once pressed in, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill up to the nominal volume, not to the rim.

Before the first filling, wash the medicine bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Traces of water in oil-based contents shorten their shelf life.

The dropper insert and the cap are made of plastic (PP and PE). With concentrated essential oils, especially citrus ones, and with solvents, we recommend monitoring how the plastic parts behave over time and replacing them when you refill the bottle repeatedly.

Glass tolerates heat, but pour the contents into the medicine bottle only after they have cooled, so that the plastic dropper insert does not lose its shape. The medicine bottle is suitable for repeated use.

The set is intended for cosmetic products and is not approved for contact with food. For recycling, glass goes with glass, while the dropper insert and the cap are separated and go with plastics.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 15 ml amber glass medicine bottle protect the contents from light?

Yes, amber glass dampens the penetration of light and so slows the changes that light causes in essential oils, oil serums and tinctures. It does not provide complete darkness, so we recommend storing the filled medicine bottle out of direct sunlight. For light-sensitive contents, dark glass is more suitable than clear glass.

How do you fill a medicine bottle with a dropper insert?

Pour the contents into the empty medicine bottle before fitting the dropper insert, up to the nominal volume, not to the rim. Then press the dropper insert into the neck and screw on the cap. If you fill the medicine bottle to the rim, the dropper insert pushes the contents out and the cap may not seal. A funnel or a syringe helps when filling the narrow neck.

Is the 15 ml medicine bottle with a dropper insert suitable for essential oils?

Yes, the set is commonly used for essential oils. The dark glass protects against light and the dropper insert dispenses drop by drop. The dropper insert and the cap are plastic, so with concentrated oils we recommend monitoring their condition and replacing them when you refill the bottle repeatedly. The glass itself is not affected by essential oils.

Can the medicine bottle with a black cap be used repeatedly?

Yes, the glass medicine bottle is designed for repeated filling. Remove the dropper insert, wash everything in warm water with a cleaning product, disinfect with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and let it dry. After several cycles the plastic dropper insert may loosen in the neck, and in that case replace it with a new one of the same diameter.

Is the 15 ml medicine bottle also suitable for water-based preparations, such as a toner?

Yes, glass is resistant to both water-based and alcohol-based contents, but the dropper insert dispenses drop by drop, which is impractical for a toner. For water-based preparations applied in larger amounts, a bottle with a fine mist sprayer is more suitable. Always preserve water-based contents in the medicine bottle according to the principles of cosmetic making.
