Amber glass medicine bottle, black safety cap, 30 ml

Drop dispensing set: amber glass medicine bottle, 30 ml, short plastic dropper insert and black safety cap. Amber glass filters light, so the set is particularly suitable for contents that lose stability in light: facial serums, facial oils, essential oil blends, tinctures and concentrated active ingredients.

The dropper insert sits in the neck of the bottle and the contents flow out of it drop by drop when the bottle is tilted. There is no need to squeeze it or draw liquid up. You turn the bottle over and wait for the required number of drops. The cap is screwed on directly over the dropper insert and closes the bottle.

What the set consists of

• Glass medicine bottle, 30 ml – amber glass with an 18/410 neck finish, with a separate certificate for contact with cosmetics and food.
• Short plastic dropper insert – a PP insert that is pressed into the neck and regulates dispensing drop by drop.
• Black safety cap – a smooth plastic closure for the same thread, which closes the bottle with the dropper insert fitted.

The set as a whole is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. Only the glass bottle has a separate certificate for direct contact with food. The dropper insert and the cap do not have it, so the whole set is intended for cosmetics.

What it is suitable for

Drop dispensing makes sense wherever only a small amount is used at a time. Facial serums and oils can be applied from the dropper insert to your palm or directly to the skin in an estimated amount, without pouring. For essential oil blends and fragrance compositions for a diffuser or for cosmetics, the dropper insert makes it easier to count the drops into a recipe. It also works for herbal tinctures, macerated oils or concentrates that are diluted or added drop by drop.

The dripping speed depends on the viscosity of the contents. Thin oils and aqueous solutions flow easily, thicker blends more slowly. The set is not suitable for gels or creams, because the opening of the dropper insert is narrow and a viscous product cannot pass through it. For such recipes, choose a bottle with a pump or a jar.

Good to know

Nominal volume and total volume are two different values. The nominal volume is the amount the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The total brimful volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck. The difference between them forms a reserve for the dropper insert and for contents that expand slightly in warmth.

Before the first filling, we recommend that you wash and disinfect the bottle, dropper insert and cap with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Residual water in the neck or in the dropper insert would get into the contents, which you do not want with anhydrous oils and serums.

Glass withstands repeated use. After emptying, it is enough to wash it, remove any residue of the old recipe and disinfect it again. The dropper insert is a thin plastic part and with repeated removal from the neck it may loosen and stop sealing. If you plan to use the bottle several times, allow for replacing the dropper insert. With concentrated essential oils and diluents, we recommend testing the behaviour of the dropper insert and cap with your specific formulation, as plastic may react to them differently than glass.
