Product description

A glass dropper bottle 100 ml in glossy black glass with a silver dropper is designed for filling and precise dispensing of liquid cosmetic preparations. Opaque black glass blocks light from reaching the contents, which is appreciated for facial oils, serums and blends with essential oils that lose their efficacy and scent more quickly when exposed to light. The dropper lets you take exactly as much as needed, without pouring. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics.

What the set is suitable for

The 100 ml volume is suitable for preparations applied drop by drop and used gradually:

Facial and body oils – blends of plant oils dispensed onto the palm or directly onto the skin.
Oil serums and concentrates – preparations with a higher proportion of active ingredients, where the precise amount matters.
Beard and hair oils – the dropper makes application to the lengths or roots easier.
Diluted essential oil blends – massage and aromatic oils, for which black glass helps preserve the scent.

Aqueous serums and tonics can be dispensed with a dropper as well, but for water-based preparations, factor in a preservative.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume the container is designed for under normal filling conditions. Total brim-full volume is the physical capacity of the bottle up to the neck and can be found in the specifications. The difference between them provides clearance for the dropper tube, which displaces some of the contents when screwed in, and for the expansion of the liquid with temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

Before first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow it to dry completely. Residual water in an oil-based preparation shortens its shelf life and may cause cloudiness.

The dropper and its materials

The dropper combines a glass tube with silicone, aluminium and plastic parts. The glossy silver surface complements the black glass and sets the product apart from standard black or white closures. The length of the dropper is matched to the height of the bottle.

With undiluted essential oils and preparations with a higher proportion of alcohol or solvents, we recommend testing the dropper's behaviour in advance. Silicone and plastic parts may soften or swell with prolonged contact with concentrated essences. Diluted blends in a carrier oil do not typically have this issue.

The set as a whole is intended for cosmetics. The glass bottle alone holds certification for direct food contact; the dropper does not, so the set is not suitable for culinary oils, syrups or other food-grade extracts.

Good to know

Black glass does not show how much contents remain. When making your own preparations, it helps to occasionally pull out the dropper and estimate the level by the wetted part of the tube.

The bottle is suitable for repeated use. Once empty, wash it with warm water and detergent, rinse and disinfect in the same way as before first filling. The dropper is disassembled and rinsed separately; oil residues in the tube are removed with ethanol.

For recycling, the glass bottle goes into glass waste. The dropper is a multi-material component; separate it from the bottle before disposal.

Frequently asked questions

Does the black glass bottle protect the contents from light?

Yes, opaque black glass blocks visible light from reaching the contents. For facial oils, serums with sensitive active ingredients and essential oil blends this is an advantage, as light accelerates oxidation and scent loss. However, you cannot see the level through the wall, so when making your own preparations you estimate it by the wetted part of the dropper tube when pulled out.

How much should be filled into the 100 ml dropper bottle?

The bottle is filled to 100 ml, that is the nominal volume, not the total brim-full volume. The dropper tube displaces some of the liquid when screwed in, and the contents need room to expand with temperature changes. Overfilling may cause the preparation to overflow through the neck when closing, contaminating the thread.

Is the glass dropper bottle suitable for food?

Before refilling, all parts must be completely dry; otherwise water will get into the oil-based preparation.
