Green Glass Bottle, Black Cap, 30 ml

A green glass medicine bottle with a volume of 30 ml and a black screw cap forms a ready-made set for smaller quantities of cosmetics where protecting the contents from light matters. Green glass lets through less light than clear glass, so it is used mainly for facial and hair oils, serums, essential oil blends or alcohol-based tinctures. Thirty millilitres corresponds to a common retail pack size for serums, as well as to a sample of a larger product for testing. The cap is included in the pack, so there is no need to look for a matching thread.

Both components of the set are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.

How the set works

The cap is plain, without a dispensing opening, dropper or pump. The contents are poured directly through the narrow neck or drawn off with a dispensing syringe or measuring cup. The inside of the cap is fitted with a sealing liner made of foam polyethylene (EPE), which sits on the rim of the neck once tightened and prevents leakage. Tightening by hand is sufficient.

For dispensing drop by drop or for spraying, use closures with the same neck type, which you will find in the parameters. These closures, as well as ready-made combinations, are available in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness and dispensing with your specific formulation.

What the set is suitable for

• Facial and hair oils – green glass blocks part of the light that speeds up the oxidation of oils, and the glass itself does not react with the oil phase.
• Serums and essences – the 30 ml volume is usual for a single pack. Water-based formulations must be preserved, as the packaging does not replace preservation.
• Essential oil blends and fragrance compositions – the glass resists them. With prolonged contact between a concentrated blend and the plastic cap, we recommend checking the condition of the liner.
• Tinctures and alcohol extracts – alcohol does not damage the glass, and a tightened cap with a liner limits evaporation.
• Test batches – the small volume makes it possible to monitor the stability of a new formulation without filling large containers.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 30 ml is the quantity the bottle is intended for under normal filling. The total brimful volume, given in the parameters, is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference provides a reserve for the cap and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill only up to the nominal volume. If you fill up to the rim, the contents reach the liner and leak out once the cap is tightened.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the cap, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. Residual water in an oil-based or anhydrous product creates conditions for microorganisms. Glass withstands repeated washing, so the set can be used more than once. At each new filling, check that the liner in the cap seals properly and is not deformed.

When sorting waste, the glass bottle and the plastic cap are separated: glass with glass, the cap with plastics.
