Product description
Glass bottle, black glossy, black and gold fine mist sprayer, 30 ml
This set of a black glossy glass bottle with a volume of 30 ml and a plastic fine mist sprayer in black and gold is intended for products applied by spraying: facial toners, hydrosols, perfumed waters, hair sprays or refreshing skin sprays. Black glass does not let light through, so the contents are protected even when they include ingredients that change more quickly in light, for example essential oils or plant extracts. Both the bottle and the sprayer are declared suitable for contact with cosmetics.
The bottle has the shape of a medicine bottle with a narrow neck. The glossy black surface with a gold detail on the sprayer looks uniform on the shelf and in gift packaging, and it needs no further decoration.
What the set is suitable for
- Facial toners and hydrosols – low-viscosity water-based products pass through the sprayer without problems and are applied evenly over the whole face.
- Perfumed waters and alcohol-based sprays – glass is resistant to alcohol. If you are using your own formulation, we recommend checking how the sprayer behaves after several weeks of use.
- Hair sprays and fresheners – thin water-based or water-alcohol blends with hydrosols, active ingredients or solubilised fragrance.
- Samples and travel packs – a small volume for products that are used up quickly, and the bottle fits into a cosmetic bag.
How to work with the set
The sprayer is screwed onto the neck of the bottle, the tube reaches to the bottom and draws the contents up from below when pressed. One press releases approximately 0.14 ml, which corresponds to a common dose of facial toner for a single application. When using it for the first time, press the sprayer several times until the tube fills and the product starts to dispense.
The bottle has a nominal volume of 30 ml; the total brimful volume is larger and you will find it in the parameters. The nominal volume is the amount the packaging is intended for under normal filling. The brimful volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck. The difference provides a reserve for the sprayer tube, which displaces part of the volume upwards when screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents with changes in temperature. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise the contents will be pushed out when the sprayer is screwed on.
The sprayer is intended for thin, water-based or alcohol-based products. Thick serums, gels and most plant oils pass through it poorly or not at all, leaving a jet instead of a spray. For oil blends, we recommend testing the dispensing on a small sample before filling the whole batch.
Good to know
Before the first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with alcohol or isopropyl alcohol and let it dry completely. Rinse the sprayer with clean water and press it several times without any liquid, so that any water is removed from the tube, otherwise it would dilute the first dose of the product.
Black glass is opaque, so the level of the contents cannot be seen from outside. You will only notice that the bottle is running low when the sprayer starts dispensing less. The sprayer tube is longer than necessary for this bottle; when screwed on, it is pressed against the bottom and bends slightly, which does not prevent dispensing.
The bottle is made of glass and may break if dropped on a hard surface. Let the contents cool to room temperature before filling. For products with a higher proportion of essential oils, we recommend checking after some time whether the plastic mechanism of the sprayer has changed its behaviour.
The glass bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact; the sprayer does not have such an assessment. The set as a whole is therefore intended for cosmetics. You will find closures with the same neck type and ready-made combinations of packaging with closures in the Handymade range. If you choose your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness, dispensing and behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.
After thorough washing and disinfection, the glass bottle can be reused. Glass belongs in the glass recycling bin; the sprayer is made of plastic and metal and is sorted separately from the bottle.
