Product description
Glass medicine bottle, black glossy, with black and gold fine mist sprayer, 100 ml
The black glossy glass bottle with a black and gold fine mist sprayer is a ready-made combination of packaging and closure for facial toners, hydrosols and refreshing sprays, that is, for liquid products applied by spraying. The opaque black glass protects the contents from light, which is useful for hydrosols, waters with essential oils, fragranced sprays and light-sensitive active ingredients. The glossy black surface with the gold detail of the sprayer gives the finished product an appearance that needs no further decoration.
The bottle has a medicine bottle shape with a nominal volume of 100 ml and the sprayer is supplied with it as the matching closure. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics.
Suitable uses
- Toners and hydrosols – low-viscosity water-based solutions that the sprayer distributes evenly, without running down the face.
- Facial and body sprays – refreshing mists, sprays with glycerine or panthenol, and light hair sprays applied from a greater distance.
- Perfumed waters and body mists – the dark glass reduces the effect of light on fragrance components and the black and gold design matches how fragranced products are usually packaged.
- Room sprays – fragranced textile or room sprays with a water and alcohol base, where a sprayer delivering a small dose works well.
In every case the contents should be liquid and free of solid particles. Thick serums, oils and emulsions do not spray well from this type of sprayer. For oils, we recommend testing the behaviour with a small amount first.
Filling and dispensing
The sprayer delivers approximately 0.14 ml per press, which is enough for a fine mist without unnecessary overspray. For a facial toner, two to three presses are usually sufficient, and for a body spray the number of doses is adapted to the size of the area. One fill therefore lasts for roughly several hundred presses.
The bottle is filled up to the nominal volume. The total brimful volume is larger, but part of the space is taken up by the sprayer with its tube once it is screwed on, and the rest serves as a reserve. If more is poured in, the contents overflow through the neck when the sprayer is fitted.
Before first use, the sprayer needs several presses with nothing coming out until the tube and the mechanism fill with liquid. Take this into account when measuring and testing the dose for the first time.
Before first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Moisture left inside the packaging is a source of contamination in water-based products.
Good to know
The level of the contents is not visible through the black glass. The amount remaining can be estimated by weight or by the change in sound when spraying, as the tube approaches the bottom.
The sprayer combines polypropylene, aluminium and other plastics. For contents with a higher proportion of ethanol or essential oils, we recommend checking in advance how the mechanism behaves after several weeks of contact, especially its tightness and the smoothness of the press. The glass itself does not react with alcohol or oil contents.
Only the glass bottle on its own has a certificate for direct contact with food. The sprayer does not have one, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics and not for filling food products.
After thorough washing and disinfection, the packaging can be reused. When changing the type of contents, rinse the sprayer with clean water and press it several times to remove the residue of the previous fill from the tube and the nozzle. When the nozzle loses the evenness of its spray, the cause is usually a deposit or a dried residue of the product in the head. Soaking it in warm water helps.
The glass bottle belongs in glass recycling. The sprayer is a combination of plastic and aluminium and is unscrewed from the bottle before disposal.
You can find other closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations in the Handymade range. If you are combining a bottle and a closure yourself, we recommend checking the tightness, the dispensing and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.
