Rosehip Seed Oil, Cold Pressed, Organic, 100 ml

Cold-pressed rosehip seed oil is a BIO vegetable oil for nourishing and regenerating the skin. It is pressed from the seeds of rosehip (Rosa canina) of European origin without the use of heat or chemicals, making it an unrefined oil. It is added to formulations as both an active ingredient and emollient: it softens the skin, provides nourishment and, according to the manufacturer, supports its elasticity and renewal. It is particularly suitable for facial oils, serums and creams for dry and mature skin.

The oil is of cosmetic and food-grade quality and carries BIO certification as well as a Kosher certificate. It is suitable for all skin types including sensitive.

Use in formulation

The oil is miscible with oils and belongs to the oil phase. In emulsions, however, add it only in the cooling phase, as the recommended processing temperature is below 40 °C. In cold-process applications (facial oils, oil serums, balms mixed cold) it is simply blended with the other oils.

The manufacturer does not specify a recommended dosage. The proportion is determined by the product type and verified in a test sample.

The oil has a naturally orange colour, which it retains in the formulation as well. It can tint light emulsions and clear oils to yellow or orange; at higher doses, take this into account already at the formulation design stage. If you want to maintain a light colour in the product, combine it with oils without their own colouring and keep the proportion lower. According to the manufacturer, the oil absorbs quickly and does not leave a noticeably greasy feel, so it can also be used in lighter facial products.

Good to know

The oil is sensitive to light and heat. Fill finished products into dark or opaque packaging and do not expose the oil to prolonged heating. It blends with other oils without any problems.

The oil contains no preservatives or palm oil derivatives and has not been tested on animals.
