Use in formulation

• Oil-soluble and miscible with vegetable oils, butters, waxes and the oil phase of emulsions.
• Compatible with common emulsifiers, anhydrous systems and protective lipid components.
• Most often incorporated into the oil phase, where it is gently melted together with other lipid raw materials.
• In formulations, it increases body, creaminess and the conditioning film; at higher dosage the final product may feel greasier and firmer.
• Suitable for combining with jojoba oil, almond oil, oat oil, squalane, ceramides, panthenol or vitamin E.
• In emulsions, it is used to support the nourishing and protective character of the formula; in anhydrous products, it forms an important part of the base.
• If you wish to achieve a lighter sensory profile, it is advisable to combine it with lighter esters or more fluid oils.
• It is recommended to add it during the cooling phase (at a temperature below 40 °C) when the formulation contains heat-sensitive actives, fragrances or antioxidants added only at the end of manufacture.

Safety and storage

• Store in a well-closed container, in a dry, cooler place, away from direct light and sources of heat.
• Use clean and dry tools during handling to avoid introducing moisture and contaminants.
• When formulating, monitor the oxidative stability of the entire formula; for products with a higher content of unsaturated oils, it may be appropriate to add an antioxidant.
• Before use in the final product, it is advisable to verify the sensorial profile, stability and compatibility with the other components of the formulation.
• For sensitive skin or when using a new product, it is advisable to perform a patch test on a small area of skin.
