White Glass Bottle, Lotion Pump, 30 ml

The 30 ml glass bottle with lotion pump is a complete set for filling ready-made creams, lighter emulsions, serums and face lotions. The opaque white glass shields the contents from light and at the same time looks clean and uniform, so it suits face and eye creams as well as products where you do not want to show the colour or any changes in the appearance of the contents. The pump releases a small, repeatable dose with each press, so the contents are not scooped out with fingers and the risk of contaminating the rest of the product is reduced.

The set consists of a glass pharmaceutical bottle and a black plastic pump with a dip tube reaching the bottom. It is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. Neither the bottle nor the pump has a food-contact certificate, so the set is intended exclusively for cosmetic products.

What it is suitable for

It works best with products that flow or can easily be moved through the dip tube by the pump: light and medium-thick O/W emulsions, face lotions, hydrating gel-based serums, eye creams with a smooth texture and nourishing oil serums. The 30 ml volume suits face products for several weeks of use, customer samples and test batches when fine-tuning a formulation.

Thick butters, balms and creams with a high proportion of solid waxes move through the pump with difficulty or not at all. For these textures, a jar or container is more suitable.

Filling and volume

The nominal volume of 30 ml is the quantity the bottle is intended for in normal filling. The total brimful volume given in the parameters is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between the two is a reserve for the dip tube and the body of the pump, which take up part of the space once screwed on, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise the cream will overflow from the neck when the pump is fitted.

Emulsions are filled into the bottle only after they have cooled and the formulation is complete, including the addition of the preservative and active ingredients. With thicker textures, filling with a syringe or funnel helps prevent the cream from catching in the neck.

Preparation and reuse

Before the first filling, wash the bottle with warm water, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave it to dry completely with the neck facing down. The pump is disinfected by spraying alcohol through it, then pumping through clean water and leaving the mechanism to dry. Residual moisture in the dip tube would dilute the contents and increase the risk of contamination.

The glass bottle can be reused after thorough washing. Reuse of the pump is limited, because dried cream residues in the pump and valve are difficult to remove. If you change the contents to a different type of product, we recommend a new pump. Glass belongs in the glass recycling bin and the polypropylene pump with plastics, so take the set apart before disposal.

Good to know

The pump is a fixed part of this set. If you want to use the bottle with a different closure, you will find closures with the same neck type and ready-made combinations in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the seal and the behaviour with your specific formulation.

With anhydrous oil serums the pump works, but very thin oils may spray when pressed sharply. It is better suited to thick-flowing to creamy products. Creams with coarser particles, for example scrub particles or undissolved powders, clog the pump and do not belong in this packaging.

White glass does not let you see the level of the contents. When making your own products, bear in mind that you will only be able to tell the contents are running out from how the pump behaves.
